Review by Sidekick

I pretty much stay away from spoilers when reviewing all Next Global Crisis episodes, that’s especially true when there’s a “game-changing” moment. Season 2, Episode 6 contains such a moment, and I have no intention of spoiling it. With it being almost impossible to review this episode without in some way revealing that moment, we’re just going to run down a list of some interesting scenes, make some observations, and point out some moronic oversights on my part.

1. Aisling Knight, the actress who plays Celestia, is super good looking. This is moronic oversight number one on my part because I truly didn’t notice before how hot she was. I always saw that she was attractive, but whoa, she’s absolutely a stunner. I now understand why several of our most devoted posters swoon over Celestia.

2. Jade Vendetta is a great villain. Irinia Viksella is one heck of an actress and beautiful to boot. This is moronic oversight number two on my part. I used to be relatively ambivalent about the character of Jade Vendetta. Not anymore. She’s in the Sebastian Lunar class, and that’s high praise. Love to see more of her.

3. Do you like knockouts via gas? This episode has a scene like that.

4. Do you like a little torture, cattle prod style? It’s brief, but this episode has a scene like that.

5. How about a little bondage? Would you like to see Celestia tied to chair? You guessed it. This episode has a scene like that.

6. Stomach punches! Kicks to the stomach! A karate chop to the stomach! Plenty of action for you stomach guys and girls out there.

7. A new costume for a character and the actress wears it very well. I like the costume a lot. That usually means most everyone else won’t, but only time and your feedback will tell. Let us know what you think.

8. There is a final K.O. when one character smacks another with Celestia’s staff. (Sorry, I can’t spoil the particulars of who gets smacked and who does the smacking.)

9. Still no Bluebird. My withdrawal symptoms are surfacing. I may have to start a letter-writing campaign or plan some kind of protest. I haven’t seen my favorite character in months and I’m getting impatient. I’d also wouldn’t complain if Nina Hellfire and Magenta make some appearances. Just saying.

10. Good fight choreography, nice locations, great acting, strong dialogue, and a great villainess. All in all, another solid episode from Next Global Crisis.

She’s hot but Shadowstar is the best IMHO =)

Will it be the next episode NGC guys ? I wonder who’s her opponent 😀 maybe two ? lol

  • Sep. 7, 2012 at 2:32 pm

I agree entirely with Bert. I wouldn’t mind an entire series centered around Lady Victory. This is the best and hottest actress I have seen associated with NGC since Angel.

  • Sep. 7, 2012 at 1:03 pm

Bert, as wonderful as Lady Victory is I would say the same about Bluebird, Athena, Miss Freedom… all heroines I’d love to see more often. But at the same time I like variety and if it became ‘The Bluebird Show’ I’m sure I’d soon start to wonder about Celestia and the others. As for the latest FSS film, I enjoyed it a lot! Lady Victory as beautiful and sexy as before, but even more righteous and cocky which made her beatdown pretty satisfying.

  • Sep. 7, 2012 at 11:27 am

Well Bert I would be forced to do that if lots and lots of people felt the same way!

  • Sep. 7, 2012 at 10:32 am

NGC, I believe you could easily build a successful ongoing storyline totally centered on Lady Victory. To me she is the quintessential superheroine. I’d like to see her in a short video once per month for a long time.

  • Sep. 7, 2012 at 8:25 am

Yeah I can’t wait for this one, Lady Victory is gorgeous and it looks like KO Queen really puts the hurt on her. LV’s costume is ridiculously hot – I was never a fan of the two-piece before but she has converted me! Usual ETA for the release? I’ll be getting it right away.

  • Sep. 6, 2012 at 8:23 pm

For a KO Queen, I wish she was a little bigger and monstrous looking.

Still, with Lady Victory who’s looking absolutely sensational, this is still a buy for me. Can Lady Victory be in all of your videos please? hehe

  • Sep. 6, 2012 at 11:46 am

There is a 0.0% chance that I won’t be buying this.

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 3:18 pm

KO Queen? Sounds enticing! I’m hoping that she is a large, oppressive figure! I would love that kind of contrast!

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 3:17 pm

And can I also add that I totally agree with both Bert and Steve said!

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 3:10 pm

Er, is it just me, or does Lady Victory look ‘different’?

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 1:47 pm

lets hope this KO Queen lives up to her name! lol

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 11:38 am

My god that woman is beautiful. I absolutely love the costume too. Can’t wait.

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 11:25 am

    Wow, she’s looking hot!

  • Sep. 4, 2012 at 7:12 am

    New name: Elastigirl 😀 lol

    (against ?)

  • Aug. 30, 2012 at 4:18 pm

congratulations, at last a gassed knock out which looks like a real knock out, the actress is really sexy and plays very well this knock out because she fells hard on the floor, completely unconscious and with no restraint.

I hope i will see such a fantastic knock out with blue bird.

  • Aug. 30, 2012 at 1:19 pm

@James – I’m glad you enjoyed it, hopefully we can stay on a roll if at all possible. I hope where we are going with Celestia and Miss Freedom will prove exciting. We’ll try and bring people back wherever it is most interesting for sure.

@Christopher – Thank you, having designed the costume I’m pleased people generally like it.

@Lucas – As it stands that is the plan. We would like it to be next Friday but to ensure this you’ll have to sign up if you haven’t already:

  • Aug. 30, 2012 at 1:13 pm

@NGC Will Lady Victory be in the next video release and do you have an estimated time for when it might come out. Not trying to sound impatient or anything, this was great episode,

  • Aug. 30, 2012 at 12:07 pm

Definitely one of the best episodes so far, and I too think that ‘Miss Freedoms’ new costume is a big improvement, she really fills it out well.

  • Aug. 30, 2012 at 10:58 am

Just got to see episode 6 – another fantastic production. You guys are on such a roll at the moment – every episode’s been brilliant.I hope you’re picking up the sales you deserve.

Fantastic performances, especially Jade; all the villains this season have been off the scale.

I’m surprised some folks want Celestia’s costume upgraded – great character, amazing actress, perfect costume ! I’d certainly like to see a solo episode. The way her character’s developing she might be good to put in an “ethical dilemma” sort of situation, having to choose between two imperfect actions – with a good smackdown involved, of course : )

Don’t mean to show off, but I thought you’d bring Miss Freedom back. Something about the way you were so adamant with the season 4 feedback that you wouldn’t bring characters back from the dead : ) I’m not a Miss Freedom fan – you’ve got so many well-drawn characters that she always seems kind of bland. the costume’s a huge improvement, though, and sounds like there’s a mystery there.

Nice to hear Lady Victory will be back. I’ll cast my vote again for a return for Magenta, Bluebird, more Athena, Nina ( who always looks like she’s having fun in your films ). And the Golden Hornet ( well, asking’s for free ! )

Finally, one thing I love about your stuff is the way you always find something unexpected to throw in. Look forward to the next one !

  • Aug. 30, 2012 at 3:09 am

@Chris – Well hopefully you won’t have too long to wait.

@Bert – She is back and her opponent is very unforgiving, things are only getting harder.

@Systematik – Are you on the mailing list? It’s cheaper if you are. It wasn’t possible to use Blitz after the first time, it happens like that sometimes if the actress gets lots of work when she would be needed to reappear. I expect we will see Sadie Paine again, yes.

@Markko – Shadowstar is in the same costume, I’m not going to mess around with that.

  • Aug. 29, 2012 at 6:57 pm

Yes I agree with Systematik, but please upgrade her costume =)

And of course hearing that Shadowstar is probably back is fantastic (and exactly same costume which was/is perfect !)

  • Aug. 29, 2012 at 6:33 pm

Haven’t seen it yet, actually I don’t think I own anything from the second season except the first episode of Fail-Safe sisters which I loved, nothing has really peaked my interest yet, I haven’t dug any of the new costumes except Miss Freedom’s, also the prices are kinda high, I do go wild on the sales though, the last one where you could buy any of season 1 for dirt cheap, think I bought the 5 I didn’t have, It’s not the prices however that are keeping me uninterested, it’s the lack of the original cast like Magenta, Nina, and the 2 minute wonder Blitz, I assume the actress isn’t interested anymore so she was killed off in a comic?

Anyway I will purchase these when there’s a decent sale like I have been the past couple of years.

BTW not to high jack this video, but will we ever see the villainess from the first episode of Fail-Safe Sisters in another video?

  • Aug. 29, 2012 at 5:28 pm

Lady Victory is back? That is excellent news!

  • Aug. 29, 2012 at 3:41 pm

I’d love to see the next Lady Victory video…

  • Aug. 29, 2012 at 1:05 pm

You want to see more Shadowstar and Lady Victory?… I think you’ll be very happy chaps then.

  • Aug. 29, 2012 at 12:15 pm

@NGC – Ah totally understand about the insurance thing, hadn’t even considered those details. But good to know you’re not dead set against more traps. Ooh, more FSS next? I’m with Mark, I would love me some more Shadowstar, or Lady Victory even. Also I got the photoset and loved it, thanks. The shots of Miss Freedom and Celestia together are smokin’.

  • Aug. 28, 2012 at 6:18 pm

A substance similar to kryptonite that is lethal to Miss Freedom if she comes into contact with it, would love to see her slowly weakened, falling to her knees before collasping in agony and begging for mercy!

  • Aug. 28, 2012 at 4:21 pm

Well I for one loved what the script did, not just in the context of the episode but the storyline in general. It wasn’t confusing, or tried to be clever but made sense and explained alot…whilst still posing one or two interesting questions. And all in an episode that action heavy; I never felt that it got in the way of that! Pretty much perfect I say!

And whilst obviously not asking you to spoil things, will the next FSS release see new characters or existing NGC? Only I wouldn’t mind seeing the gorgeous Shadowstar again!!!

  • Aug. 28, 2012 at 3:20 pm

@Fabio – There are obviously a lot of questions about Miss Freedom and what happened, we plan to tackle many of these quite quickly and perhaps that will furnish you with greater knowledge of her strengths and weaknesses, in fact, I’m sure it will. Someone else also mentioned the downside being Celestia’s lime-light being taken. This is no reflection on Celestia as a character but imagine if it were just her, 2 possibilities- 1) Jade kills her, or 2) She jail-breaks herself. In the second instance she would then have to find Elite Force operatives with little knowledge of who they were and they not really knowing much about her with Suki gone. So Miss Freedom’s appearance had to be more than just an “ain’t it cool” moment, it had to have a purpose in advancing Celestia’s story as well. I am hopeful we’ll get a Celestia only film at some point, even if it’s a side mission as opposed to a full episode. Next we’ll be having some FSS. Very, very excited about those having been at the shoot.

@Richard – I do enjoy environmental traps. Water can be a bit of a problem from an insurance perspective (if you do stuff underwater that is) otherwise possibly. I’m not really into shoe-horning something into the video that would be out of place but if we can get some sets in future this will be easier.

@flip_flop – Glad you liked both, thanks for the comment.

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Excellent episode! Miss Freedom’s new costume is amazing!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 9:52 pm

@NGC – Oh the set was really great, but really I just meant more traps in general. I am talking about scenes where the heroine is gassed, drugged, overheated or put in water. I love the idea of a heroine facing a situation beyond her control and being subjected to water or heat or gas or whatever places her in an unfamiliar environment. I would really love to see more environmental traps of this kind, I think this ep showed how good they can be with the gassing effect and Celestia’s reaction. Water would be my preference!

I’m also curious to know what is on the horizon, will we see more Bluebird and Athena?

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 9:30 pm

I like the kryptonite idea. She cant have all that strength and not a single weakness. and Im only saying that because I doubt the whole “powerless” thing will last long with Miss Freedom. You guys are super creative! Connecting Miss Freedom and Celestia together that way was genius! So Im sure you can figure out a kryptonite like weakness. AWESOME job on the new costume,Im sure you cant hear that enough, But it was my favorite part about this video, and the beautiful Miss Freedom getting beaten in it of course.

Now my only complaint is that I feel like Celestia got the spot light stolen from her. I enjoyed the Miss Freedom twist but I was so excited for a Celestia episode. And her time in the spot light just wasnt long enough for me. Any chance she can star in a Side Mission episode? That would be nice.

Now I know you just released this but can we know whats to come? FSS or a SM?

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 6:12 pm

@RJ123 – I’m pleased you liked it. Kryptonite? That happens quite a lot in other films, I’m not sure how I would explain that… I felt the glove in this one had a similar effect.

@Mark – That’s a very good review and I am pleased you enjoyed it so much. Of course we plan to have Bluebird back before too long, as I’m sure Sidekick would also like to see her!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 5:42 pm

Ooops! Two mistakes! One, I forgot to comment again on the photo set too! As I said in regards the SM4 one, NGC seem to have got the balance between ‘behind the scenes’, ‘action’ and ‘posed’ pretty much spot on! And two, that should have obviously read ‘proficient’! Stupid fat fingers!!!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 5:15 pm

Well, simply an awesome episode!!! Why? Well, a few points:

    1) Three talented and gorgeous actresses! Great to see Miss Freedom back, Celestia is rapidly becoming a favourite, and Jade is an amazing villianess (evil and attitude never looked so good…or sounded so good too! That accent? Boy oh boy)!
    2) Fantastic writing! Seriously, the script for this episode should be the blueprint for not just great heroine films, but ‘shorts’ in general! Fast paced, with the episode rushing towards the ‘surprise’…only to kick it up a notch from that point onwards (this was assisted with the great use of music too; perfectly used to convey the drama, peril and pace of the story).
    3) Miss Freedom’s new outfit, let’s be honest, looks incredible on her! LOVE IT!!! Following the disappointment with the new Bluebird effort, NGC seem to (in my eyes anyway) have found a winner with this one (I was never really a fan of the old Miss Freedom outfit, so it made it even better for me)!
    4) Great shooting / editing! Perfect use of close – ups, angles etc. The best yet? I think so!
    5) Variety!!! Loads of different peril…but it all worked perfectly! None of it felt random, or thrown in for the sake of it!
    6) Action packed!!! For some reason, this episode seemed to deliver more action and peril whilst still advancing the storyline than any other release!
    7) Superb use of effects!!! This is something that NGC seem to be becoming more and more proficant at!

The only downside for me? No Bluebird lol!

Well done guys – you really should all give yourselves a pat on the back for this one!!!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 3:56 pm

Awesome episode, great peril and good continuation of the storyline. The 2 heroines aer both gorgeous and Jade Vendetta is a great villainess. Loved the new Miss Freedom costume, very sexy and Harriet Moran is so hot in peril, would love to see her slowly weakened by a kryptonite like substance in the future…that would be sooooo good!!! Keep up the good work!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 2:50 pm

@C – It’s not pay that means people stop working with us, I’m as fair as I can be and if all productions treated actors as well as I do regarding pay the acting world would be a better place. Generally when you lose people it’s because they were in another country for 6 months at a pivotal point in their characters story, or they are quitting acting. Absences are a factor in our plot because we can’t tie anyone to a contract and often we won’t see them for 6 months to a year at a time. So I’ll write a season plot which I will aim for, and various fates will decide how closely I can play it out, you’ve got to be somewhat flexible.

@wid – The classic Supergirl costume is easily my favourite in the genre. It is absolutely classic, brilliant in every way. Not particularly embellished and not particularly skimpy, but it works perfectly. Miss Freedom’s original costume aped it somewhat but we didn’t get it completely right and I wanted to do something else. We still have skirts and bare/hosed legs on other heroines.

@AlyAdmirer – Thank you, I prefer it, it works for her better than the last one did IMO.

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 1:31 pm

@NGC Thanks for reminding me of the one thing I forgot to mention. Namely, lest anyone think I reflexively hate any and all costume changes, I LOVE the new Miss Freedom gear. Which surprised me, frankly, as someone who prefers exposed legs (either bare or in hose) to pants. But this costume definitely works. :)

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 1:25 pm

As far as feedback on the new costume, I definitely prefer the skirt and wouldn’t mind seeing that return. Then again, I’d take a skirted outfit (particularly one that looks like the classic supergirl outfit) over any costume.

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 1:19 pm

*Very* pleased with this release all around, and especially as a Miss Freedom fan :) Thanks again, NGC, for a great episode!

Hopefully — since you mention the costumes can get expensive — this means we’ll be seeing Miss Freedom for a little while yet? 😀

I don’t mean to try and read too much into it — you mentioned before that actresses dropped out for several reasons, one of them being pay. I assumed Ms. Moran was in this category and that’s part of the reason she was written out.

Speaking of which — how much has the availability of actresses factored into story alterations thus far? If you’d rather not discuss for fear of spoilers, that’s fine.

    ANYway. Giddy :)

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 9:38 am

@NGC – lol, you were right next to the dungeon – definitely an eye-opener for those not initiated.

Always thought that and the bar below would make a great villain hideout though. Maybe something to consider 😉

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 7:54 am

@The Latin Intellect – Well I’m glad you enjoyed it. I will have the photoset out for general release fairly soon and I’m impressed that anyone was good enough sport to avoid the spoiler, which I know for me would have been tempting.

@AlyAdmirer – If I do it (and I’ve got some new Fail-Safe Sister costumes to pay for, making extra expense difficult) I will ensure it is an upgrade and not spoil anything. The response to the Miss Freedom costume change has been 90% positive which is as much as I can realistically hope. Bluebird’s new costume got a more mixed response. I prefer it because the cut is so much better, it has a chest emblem, and is more ‘superheroine’ than the previous one which was training to be a superheroine IMO. I think one of the reasons that the old one was popular was the metallic nature. The problem with that is we had to keep buying new ones because you can’t wash them without them losing their lustre. I don’t like to shop buy the main part of the outfit for front line heroines, I think we need to do better, hence the change. Perhaps we’ll try again for season three?! I will happily take 17.9 out of 10, thanks.

@Derek – I’m delighted that you enjoyed both the action and the costume. The fight work was good and everyone tried hard. I’m hoping to keep that interesting and I know we’ve got some vids out in September which from the rushes look to be the best we’ve done.

@Swampy170 – Yes it was an interesting day, quite an education for some of our team!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 7:07 am

Loving the way there’s a good dose of peril in this episode – and Celestia’s new costume is looking … Celestial! lol.

Also cool to see you used Murdermile’s facilities, really great to see them getting even more business – would love to see them expand even more, great place!

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 5:55 am

    Oh …
    Oh …
Now I’ve recovered, can I congratulate everyone involved in this project for the exceptional story, performances and photography in this movie. The close-ups drew me right into Celestia’s feelings and pain. The fight choreography bruised me, and as to Miss Freedom’s make-over what a fantastic costume. I’m not sure if it is the colour combination, the fit (and the fit body it fits) or something primal in me, but I could gaze at her in action or stationary, all day long.
Cold shower now I think …

  • Aug. 27, 2012 at 4:34 am

NGC: “I am prepared to upgrade the Celestia costume if I hit my sales targets for this month otherwise nope, sorry.”

Why? Why do you threaten me like this? After the disposal of my previous favorite costume in the original Bluebird, now I have to worry about its successor as the Hands Down Sexiest in All of NGC-dom being changed, too? :)

At the very least, if it is to be “upgraded” I can only pray you don’t stray too very far from either the basic design or the color scheme. But seriously, I for one don’t want to see it change at all.

As for this video itself… I have to confess, before I started watching, I was a little disappointed. Simply because I’d been anticipating a straight-up Celestia vehicle. As someone who loves the character as well as the costume (number two behind Bluebird in my book) but who has also expressed some uncertainty over whether she could carry an episode on her own rater than the delightful double-act foil she proved to be with Suki, I had initially been hoping Ep. 6 would give me some answers to those questions, by giving me the chance to see her not sharing the screen with another heroine.

When we got to the shock reveal, I was still ambivalent. While it was definitely a twist I didn’t see coming, even after Miss Freedom’s appearance in the recap, and it was well handled… I hadn’t exactly been missing Miss Freedom. The character’s never really ticked my boxes, and the actress is (IMHO) the weakest in the NGC ensemble company. Which considering how high the bar is for acting talent at NGC, that’s not as bad as it might otherwise sound, but still… I wasn’t exactly pining for her return.

Having said all that, the end product blew my socks off.

There’s not really a thing in this video I can fault, but two things I want to single out for exceptional praise are the cinematography and the music. I absolutely love your director’s visual style–pretty much have for every film you’ve released that I’ve seen. The shot selection and angles used always elevate NGC’s work to upper echelons of this little world, and in my view never more so than in this video. Also, while I don’t think there were any music cues new to this installment (though I could be wrong on that) I’m not sure they’ve ever complimented the visuals quite as well as they did this time out.

    In short, on a scale of 1-10, I give Season 2 Episode 6 a 17.9. :)

  • Aug. 26, 2012 at 9:20 pm

    @ NGC,

I bought the photoset along with the video, minutes after I received the email notification :) my favorite photo was the one where Celestia is laying doing, at an angle!

I did watch the censored trailer while waiting for the download to complete, so yes I was completely shocked as mention in earlier posts.

  • Aug. 26, 2012 at 7:29 pm

@ShadowFax – Is this the first time you’ve seen her? Maybe you’ve not seen these then:

A dream to work with, seriously bright girl. We sometimes have her doing make up when she’s not in the film too, ultra talented. I am prepared to upgrade the Celestia costume if I hit my sales targets for this month otherwise nope, sorry.

@ceej – Thanks, I’m glad the surprise worked and the inevitable spoilers didn’t spoil it.

I take it those of you who were surprised watched the censored trailer?

  • Aug. 26, 2012 at 6:21 pm

Knight! Knight! Knight! Jebus H Cripes that woman is gorgeous! I mean it! Hottest superheroine ever, especially with her hair down like that (Seriously there’s some kind of thing going on in the world where women are liking to wear their hair short, which is fine I guess, but I think they’re doing themselves disservices. Long hair is just damn sexy!) Miss Freedom’s return wasn’t bad for me, She was never one of my faves, but her new costume is pretty danged awesome, but it’s all about Aisling for me. She may have swooped in and stolen Angel’s spot for my numbero Uno!

Smaaaall observation here. Now this is just observational mind you and not really a ‘complaint’ in any sense of the word. Everyone is getting costume upgrades. I don’t really mind since it sort of reflects budgeting and as you get better budget’s of course you’d like to get better costumes. Celestia’s costume is starting to look just a bit ‘last season’ standing around all these heroines in brand new spunky shining outfits 😛

Not a complaint obviously, and I certainly wouldn’t want Celestia getting a new costume that just changed her look to much, but probably worth noting anysuch. She’s gorgeous anyway.

  • Aug. 26, 2012 at 1:28 pm

When first read about the surprise, I ran through my mind exactly who it could be, thought I got it, and then was blown away when it was revealed. Oh, and the rest of the episode was pretty fun too, a real nice mixture of elements.

  • Aug. 26, 2012 at 12:59 pm

@HolyMolyDude123 – Haha! I love everything about that comment. We’ve turned you into a goody? Fantastic. Seriously though, it’s very heartening to read these things as it makes the laborious process of writing a plot, a character and lastly a script worth it. If just a few people watch the whole thing and don’t just skip to their favourite part I’m very happy. Caring about the characters is a really good sign so thank you for saying that.

@Chris – Yes she is literally a wonder.

@Richard – We can do more scenes of this nature if I can get the cash for fun locations. Very often I have to be quite creative making films in such an expensive city so it was nice this time to have a set, I would like to have one more often, I need your help for this.

@Bert – Thanks, it’s nice to hear Jade getting kudos, she’s been with us on and off for over two years and a great worker who seems to have passed without notice too often. I wanted to give her some time in the lime light without back up and I think she excelled. I can also tell you she had strong opinions about the ending! Miss Freedom’s story will become clear but she ought to be heroic, I hope we achieved this.

Did anyone pick up the photoset? What did you think if so?

Well, this was a great episode. I am a huge peril fan and always root for the bad guys to win…but I found myself actually happy to see Miss Freedom. I was legitimately thrilled at the moment she returned. I somewhat noticed the same things as The Latin Intellect, so I find myself hoping it is actually her and that we get to see her kick ass later on.
What have you done to me, NGC? V_V

Celestia is pretty gorgeous. I think I just never gave her credit because I was used to Angel and Suki… But now that I look at her, dang she is smoking!

Good episode as usual. The performances from Jade and Celestia were so convincing, and the mix of traditional fights and perilous situations was enjoyable. I particularly love the jail cell filling with gas, it looked so good and reminded me a little of the old Wonder Woman show where she got gassed out. NGC should do more scenes like this! But my favourite part was Miss Freedom, what a cool surprise. She looked absolutely stunning in her new costume, which by the way is a massive improvement. The part where she’s lying barely conscious on the table was WOW amazing, perfect picture of helplessness. I couldn’t be more excited by where the series is headed – more Miss Freedom, I hope!

What a weekend. After a bit of a dry spell, we get NGC ep. 6 and Skyfire in two days!

This episode is just so good. Celestia does such a great job at selling the torturous abuse from Jade Vendetta (I generally prefer male villains, but Jade is in the same league as Sebastian Lunar in terms of menace and acting skills so I never missed the lack of a bad guy) and the arrival of Miss Freedom was so welcome for me. I loved Ep 8 & 9 from last season, and I was hoping that we’d see Miss Freedom again. She is such a perfect embodiment of a superheroine, and she is so good in fight scenes. I loved the part where Miss Freedom is too weakened by the torture glove to defeat Jade, but puts on a brave facade and purposely takes a brutal beating to give Celestia enough time to recover and try to save the day. So heroic! A great scene, and perfectly acted and shot.

NGC, one of your best episodes to date. Man it’s a good time to be a superheroine fan.

I’m really pleased with the feedback, there were a few things we haven’t done before in terms of the interrogation, the prison scene and the FX. I think Jade did a great job too as our villain. We can probably do more ambitious set ups in future if this release is well supported.

I love this episode! I love the new miss freedom costume. There is a lot of love put in that outfit. Also i love how NGC uses the special effects. They are very concern about the result of it, that tecnoglove was cool. I love the girls. Their acting. The belly punches!!!.
The return of miss freedom was like the return of gandalf in the two towers. Is back but its not exactly the same

This is absolutely one of my favourite NGC episodes so far. Why you ask? The return of a certain character? Nope. An interrogation scene! With bondage, a defiant heroine and a wee bit of torture! Just a wee bit granted but superbly acted! I love NGC and am truly delighted to see the peril varied from the fight scenarios they do so well. Please Jeebus, if your listening, can we one day hope for an interrogation scenario with….Bluebird? Then I can die content. Meantime, this is a wonderful episode from a top rate studio.

Sorry about the typos, I’m using my phone which likes to ‘correct’ names or words improperly

I chose my @ name based on how observant & analytical that I am. Few things surprise me, and this episode totally, totally caught me off guard!! I’m still surprised!!

I understand not answering questions, and I love that!!! It keeps folks wondering these same questions wanting to see more of what’s next! That means NGC is doing an awesome job!

As far as a final showdown. All the ‘biggies’ bluebird, Athena, Celestia, Erica Lynn, Miss Freedom vs Mr. Liner, Eliza, Jade V, The Roman Bros, vs that Creepy Dude (those he have a name? I missed it if he does). I notice something stated; “and fighting on whose side”. That brings up Angel. What’s she been up to? During Angels side mission, the baddie asks her if she’s a double agent, or something along those lines. Hmm…

With out spoiling anything I really enjoyed the whole thing, really like the way things are flowing at NGC.

All wonderful questions that I can’t really answer. You are an eagle-eyed fellow for sure! As for Miss Freedoms heels, I agree that thinner heels do look a bit better, but are very hard to fight in and the risk of injury for the type of work we do is often too great. We have used them in the past and may do again but it will be dependent upon the sort of action in the scene, how long people have to stand around in them etc..

I shall answer in ways that I can that won’t ruin things…

    1. We got a good look at what Celestia can do with her staff in both Season 1 Episode 9 and Season 2 Episode 4, she’s pretty formidable with it.

    2. Well spotted, more on that to follow.

    3. More on that to follow. This episode was bound to throw up more questions than answers but we’ll get around to it, it’s all written lest someone throw a spanner in my works.

As for a big final showdown… well that would be telling, but it’s fair to say that such a thing isn’t out of the realms of possibility. It’s a rather end of season thing, but who would be there and fighting on whose side? If it happened.

It was indeed a nice surprise! I did ask myself why there weren’t any credits at the beginning, and then…
Since there are pics of Miss Freedom, I guess I can freely comment on her appearance. Her new costume is nice, really bice, and is especially better than the skirt costume. I will comment on the thickness of those heels. Such thick heels look to be on the fetish/bondage sort. Grabbing either thinner heels, flat boots, or wedge heels would make the costume that much better and realistic. Celestia; always, always stunning!!! She’s #1 on my list.
As far as story goes, it was well implemented, HUGE surprise. I was expecting Bluebird, Athena, or Erica Lynn. The way Miss Freedom returns arises a few questions.
    1. What are the full extent of Celestia’s powers, and her staff?
    2. If not mistaken, Miss Freedom’s new costume has the same symbol as Celetia’s. What’s the connection?
    3. Is Miss Freedom the real thing? Her powers were “nerfed” and at the end, she looked to be more ‘robotic’ in dialogue with Celestia.

I’m assuming that as the season progresses
    that we’ll have some answers.

On the peril side of things, the interrogation was very short lived, and wasn’t very interrogating :) I was expecting a longer interrogation scene where Celestia proves to be one tough cookie to crack despite the pain. The story more than made up for the lack ofinterrogation. The surprise appearance also made this video very important as far as moving the plot forward.
    Can’t wait to see more!
Quick question; are we going to have a BIG showdown of all the heroines (Elite Force) vs all of Red Mist vs Creepy Dude in the final battle? That’d be so awesome is all the actresses ( and actors) can be available for such!!

Nice review. What an episode! I’d been hoping for this surprise for quite a while. It was handled beautifully. Way to go NGC.
