Ayaka Tomoda & Yui Aikawa in Giga’s “Alien Vs. SL & MI”

[Adults only] It’s not everyday that you see Supergirl in a martial arts battle against a Xenomorph from Aliens, but leave it to the Japanese producers at Giga to deliver exactly what the world has been craving… and with the lovely Yui Aikawa along for the ride (though not as Supergirl).

I love the concept of this video, and historians have already documented that Yui Aikawa is my favorite woman ever, but in my opinion, this movie falls short of expectations. It’s impressive to see Giga’s take on the mythology of the Alien franchise, but the elements don’t seem to mix together all that well.

I love the set design and overall aesthetic of the video in the introduction (the opening credits are unveiled slowly, similar to Alien, and the production design is impressive), but the sight of Supergirl fighting an alien totally ruins the creepy, atmospheric mood, and it’s pretty much downhill from there. Except for the multiple extended alien-rape scenes—those are perfectly fine if you’re into alien/superheroines rape (I sure am). But any time I see Yui Aikawa (playing the title character “MI” in this video), I expect a lot more.

So, like Prometheus, this film is a colossal disappointment. It’s also kind of confusing because as far as I can tell, absolutely no explanation is offered about how the hell Supergirl ever ended up fighting an alien. It just happens right at the start of the movie. Though, in fairness, what possible explanation could there be for such a thing?

I LOVE the over all feel of these Akiba Web videos, I only wish two things…

    1) They were in English
    2) They were not censored (could live without #1 if this were true)

Over all it would be amazing to have sets and resources like they do!

I kinda enjoyed it….. Far from their best though.

Girl playing supergirl is lovely I have to say – I wish the fight scenes were a bit more extensive.

If you interested in Giga’s hollywood spin on classics, make sure you check out WonderWoman vs Terminator & Predator. I forget its actual name, but its a great vid.

Tony the vid you’re referring to is Wonder lady vs American Monsters

    @Dr. Morticus
The censoring is always going to be there…filming of genitalia is illegal in Japan, a law that I believe came out the American Occupation after World War II.

That girl, Ayaka Tomoda, she is fantastic. I really wish the western fetish models had a tenth of her talent in acting. It’s like she’s really feeling the peril and pain during the fight scenes.

So, Supergirl fights the alien at the beginning of the film? (The pictures seem to indicate at the end.) There are multiple alien-rape scenes…but the pictures don’t really show this? (Unusual for Giga movies, usually, the pictures give you a pretty clear indication of the action.) Anyone who has actually seen this want to clear up exactly what happens in regards to sexual peril?

I was going to ask the same thing since the actress who plays Super Lady is probably the most attractive actress they have right now. Does she meet her sexual demise as well?

  • Dec. 14, 2012 at 12:28 pm

    Not exactly….

She does a bit of fighting, but there isnt really anything “sexual” that happens to SL.

The sexual stuff happens to the other character mostly.

Probably reason why I wasn’t that impressed by the vid (although I enjoyed it)

It is a “bad end” per Giga speak mind….

I bought this one–the monster looked so cool, and the action looked interesting too. I’m always up for a monster vs. heroine story. No doubt the monster costume was amazing. Some of the effects were great. The fight scenes were good too. This wasn’t the epic movie that I thought it might be–it’s actually kind of simple, story and action wise. But a lot of fun. Some of the sexual scenes get a little tedious (Giga tends to draw out these scenes as much as possible and sometimes in ways that don’t increase the effectiveness of the video), but I enjoyed it. Always love a good tentacle–shoved-in-the-heroine’s-mouth bit…

I liked how that looked too, along with the acid dissolving the uniform bit (at least, that’s what it looks like) and the tentacle. Still, seems like there could have been more. Still waiting for Giga to try a Galaxy of Terror re-make!

Ha, Galaxy of Terror! A true classic. For those who don’t know it–it’s a cheap scifi movie where the crew members of a spaceship end up confronting their darkest fears (thanks to a malevolent alien force). One of the crew is a hot chick who absolutely hates worms. Naturally, she is attacked by a giant worm–only the worm doesn’t just attack her, it also rapes her, lol. One of those completely random preposterous inexplicable scenes that only 80s scifi could deliver. I would definitely love to see a parody of that, only with an entire crew of sexy chicks… I might have to just make it myself.

Please do! :-) You’re right about something else earlier…sometimes the Giga scenes just go on too long. They lose their edge when that happens. Galaxy is a good example of how making a scene move quickly (maybe too quickly in that case!) keeps the excitement level up.

I always wondered how much if would cost to build a giant prop like that, first of all, and how difficult it would be to operate it to boot. Hope you can solve it!

This sucks. What a waste of Yui Aikawa’s talent.
