I recently got the chance to see SPECIAL FANTASIES – Emily, Diana, Cali & Afrika Part 1 from Double Trouble Wrestling. The video involves a three-on-one battle between three evil villainesses and one Batgirl played by Cali Logan. Overall, I enjoyed the video—for the concept more so than for the execution. However, I always like Cali Logan, and the acting is pretty good, particularly by Diana Knight as Catwoman. If you enjoy somewhat campy peril scenarios, you just might enjoy this video.
The video begins with Batgirl walking into some kind of secret lair. Batgirl calls out to Catwoman, who appears from behind a curtain. Catwoman is played by Diana Knight, who makes a really good devious villainess as always. The two start fighting, and right off the bat (no pun intended), we can see that the fighting style employed in this video is akin to what you might find in a fantasy wrestling video (as opposed to a typical, cinematic superheroine adventure), which is appropriate since this video is produced by Double Trouble Wrestling. The two characters duke it out for a while, going back and forth with both characters dominating for brief periods.
Finally, Batgirl zaps Catwoman with her utility belt (which doubles as some kind of projectile taser). With Catwoman defeated, Batgirl begins to handcuff her to take her in, but then two more villainesses (played by Emily Addison and Afrika) appear from behind the curtain. The villainesses surround Batgirl and then, after some taunting and humiliation, begin to beat her up and humiliate her some more.
The rest of the video consists of the beat-down of Batgirl as the villainesses apply various moves, punch her, kick her, choke her, etc. (Feel free to contact the producers for a complete list of moves and holds 🙂 ). After about 15 minutes, the video concludes, but that by no means indicates that the beatdown stops there. There are two more parts to this video, which, to my understanding, will be released in the near future, so poor Batgirl’s misadventure will continue in later episodes.
What I liked: I really liked Cali Logan‘s vintage Batgirl costume, which is modeled after the costume worn by Yvonne Craig, who played Batgirl in the “Batman” TV series from the 1960s. This is a nice change from the usual, modern Batgirl costume we typically see in these videos.
I liked the acting, particularly by Diana Knight as Catwoman, who also serves as the leader of the villainess group. (The other models, as attractive as they are, basically serve as hench…women, and obey the evil commands of Catwoman). The video has a good look to it, with nice lighting and a pretty good, if very simple, camera placement and movement.
What I didn’t like so much: As I said, the style of action is along the lines of fantasy wrestling. It’s not a cinematic style of action, and the moves clearly aren’t really being delivered. Whether you like this or not will depend entirely on personal preference. If you enjoy fantasy wrestling matches that require a suspension of disbelief in order to enjoy watching them, then you’ll enjoy the action and fighting in this video if you can apply the same rules here. If you’re expecting the kind of action you might see in a Next Global Crisis or Zen Pictures video, that’s not going to be the case here.
So, if you’re interested in a three-against-one beatdown and humiliation scenario involving Batgirl and a few evil villainesses, check out part 1 of this three part series, and of course, feel free to leave comments!
