“Episode 18 – Total Recall” from The Battle for Earth

"Episode 18 - Total Recall" from The Battle for EarthEpisode 18 of The Battle For Earth series, Total Recall, picks up right where Episode 17 left off. Whereas Episode 17 features more of a mix of story and action, Total Recall focuses much more on Spawn’s efforts to break down Superianna, the main, Supergirl-ish character.

There actually isn’t much of a story to review in this particular episode. If you’re a peril fan who has been waiting for The Battle For Earth to get back to its roots, I think you’re going to be happy. Spawn’s plan is to control Superianna and use her as a weapon against Avalon. Spawn intends to accomplish this by physically and mentally humiliating Superianna as much as possible to bend her to his will.

As the episode begins, Superianna is immediately exposed to meteor rocks and spends a couple of minutes writhing helplessly on the floor. She finally manages to get to her feet and is rewarded for her fortitude by being punched, kicked, and reverse-bearhugged by Kaid. She is briefly able to recover when Spawn appears on the scene. Using his telekinetic powers, Spawn holds Superianna against the wall and briefly fondles her before she passes out.

When she wakes up there are some flashbacks to previous episodes and a few minutes of dialogue before the peril begins again in earnest. Spawn punches her several times and uses his power to strip off her cape, belt, and skirt. He then telekinetically rips several gashes in her uniform while again holding her helplessly against the wall. I think the ending is a bit ambiguous about Superianna’s future as a character, so I don’t want to spoil anything, and I’ll let you make your own interpretation.

As previously stated, I think this will be a film that peril lovers are going to enjoy. There wasn’t much movement forward in The Battle For Earth storyline, but previous episodes have been more story-centric, so I think fans will appreciate this peril-oriented episode.

Have not purchased the video, and I think it’s because the model (imho) is not as good as the previous ones used in the early episodes. That said, I like the incorporation of uniform damage–tearing the costume as the action transpires. There is something to tarnishing, dirtying and tearing the heroine’s costume.
Slightly off topic, I would love to see The Battle for Earth use the model from “Trinity” once again. She would make an amazing Wonder Woman character!

At first glance the model didn’t move me much but after seeing the trailers, she’s looking more delicious. Might give part 2 a go. Part 1 being more story, so might wait on that one.

I think i pass on that, the Model doesn’t look that good and the costume is also a little bit cheap looking in my opinion. Also there are no heeled Boots (it really looks cheap!) and the color of the skirt & length of the skirt isn’t good too. There were much better videos from TBFE earlier with really good actresses and better costumes too.

Whenever someone does a peril movie featuring a Supergirl type character (particularly with something close to the movie version of the costume) I consider a purchase.

I’m not a big fan of the cape and skirt removal–the skirt is my favorite part. The “Nuclear Man” episode had a lot for us fans of Supergirl type characters combined with peril and upskirt shots. Does this video deliver on the upskirt peeks?

Wid – Episode 17 is the king of the upskirt shots. They are rare in Episode 18 if memory serves.

Hey guys – thanks for the comments. Uh… let’s see… No heeled boots was unfortunate – we had cooler ones but the actress wasn’t able to stand in them – it was a trade off! Agree with the skirt being a bit too long – think I even said on 17 that we thought she was gonna be just a bit taller – didn’t want to cut it at the last minute:). Ya never know what you’re gonna get the first time you work with someone! There’s definitely a few upskirts in 18 but 17 is filled with em! Total respect to James – I actually thought the actress was pretty good. I enjoyed working with her anyways. But no problem. I totally respect where you’re coming from!:) As for Trinity – yeah I think she’d definitely make a cool wonder woman – we’ll see!

    Thanks all,

Soooo, is the original avalon coming back? She’s definitley one of my favorite superheroine models.

I’m going to argue with the consensus of the folks who opted not to buy because the model was subpar. I bought both episodes, and I thought she did a great job. She’s got a great body, sells the peril parts really well and does a decent job with the acting. I really enjoyed these videos… maybe my favorite tbfe videos so far.

Don’t know about her skills of selling the peril (she could be an good actress!) because i didn’t buy it, i just judged by the look of the model. But definately looking forward to your next superheroine movies TBFE. Also thanks for commenting.

I thought 17 & 18 where good, I liked the new actress and thought she done a good job and hope to see her again in a future video. Also i also liked the longer skirt i would think that any self respecting hero would have a longer skirt plus it makes it that more rewarding when you get to see what is underneath.
also i’m glad to see that they are still making there videos with a story i think it make the peril that much beter when you see how they got in to that situation.

    nice job.

I just want to echo the positive feedback. I’ve purchased both videos and I enjoyed them. The model (Sarah I think) may not be everyone’s taste, but I think she looks good and did some nice acting.

I think my favourite part of The Battle for Earth’s videos, and these two exemplify it, is that there is a real interaction between the characters. There is dialogue and story (as well as plenty of peril). Kaid and Spawn really add to the video.

I only have two minor criticisms.

    1. Episode 17 had too much of Superiana in civilian clothes. Personally, I really prefer the street clothes scenes to be minimal. Fortunately, in episode 18, she is in costume from beginning to end.

    2. The flashbacks were a bit too long for my tastes.

Overall, though, I recommend these 2 videos if you like TBFE’s style or if you are looking for a non-explicit peril video that combines a nice balance of plot, characters, and action.

Are there any low blows in any of these 2 vids? Or the last 2 episodes?

  • May. 11, 2011 at 12:56 pm

I thought this was quite a good and well made episode from TBFE on the whole, I liked the fact that the costume was torn, In my idea that’s a major improvement on TBFE part. They should make more video’s of supergirl type characters having their costumes torn, especially Superiorgirl. A powergirl episode from TBFE would be a change, I wonder if they will ever make one of them? All in all, if you wondering about purchasing this episode, I would definately reccomend you to. 9/10 if you’re asking me!

Does the Battle for Earth have any videos in which Superiorgirl/Superiannia does not survive? Maybe in the alternate storylines?
