Heart Shot Grand Prix: Bullet with Butterfly Wings

Heart Shot Grand Prix: Bullet with Butterfly WingsA reader sent this to me the other day—it’s a low-budget production with gun-wielding masked heroines and martial arts action, but I have to say it’s pretty well done—particularly some of the action towards the end. And it’s free! (The complete film is embedded below.)

Loved it to bits. The German suplex was a highlight for me. The only thing that let it down for me was the main heroine didn’t get more of a beating. I thought at one point she was gonna be on the wrong end of a piledriver or powerbomb….such a shame she escaped, that WOULD have put it in my top 5 of all time.

Glad you liked this one. I have to say that I tripped over the link on one of the rip-off sites, but this time no one was infringing copyright. I totally agree with Jim, that it is the writing that makes this one. The actors, director and production team can be as talented as you like, but without a decent script they’re on a loser. The lead actress fights like a demon, and the choreography is so well done that you feel every blow. It is so good that you’d be forgiven for thinking that the actress really can pull off these moves. I liked the story and felt empathy with the character. I hope there will be more, but the producer will need more money. If you read the end credits, you’ll see his acknowledgement of all those who put up seed finance. It is the major hurdle all film makers face. When you come across someone this talented, they deserve encouragement. I’m only sorry that their website (also in the credits) doesn’t work. They may never know how much we like their product.

I love this movie. Great martial arts and gunfights. And a capable heroine to boot.

Can’t wait to see more of these.
