Heroine Academy 1: Morgan’s Initiation

Heroine Legends Presents Heroine AcademyHeroine Legends has just released Episode 1 of its anticipated Heroine Academy series. I’ve watched it a few times now, and please don’t take this as a negative commentary on the film, but I’m not entirely sure what to make of what I watched. Let me explain…

The episode opens up with a major babe talking to a scientist. They have a short conversation, and the next thing you know, she’s in a fight for her life. Things happen quickly and without much explanation, which isn’t abnormal for the films Heroine Legends produces. They generally reveal plot points very slowly, and, as a fan of heroine movies with storylines, I like their style.

However, almost nothing is revealed plot wise in this episode. We don’t find out anything about the academy or the characters involved. We don’t know who runs it or what it’s exact purpose is. The main character in this episode didn’t display any powers, so are they just taking regular girls and training them to fight, or are any of them imbued with powers from an aura? I think it would be a wise move to answer some of these questions if for no other reason than it’s difficult to invest in characters you know nothing about.

The action parts of the film are good, and the fight is back and forth until the end where the girls opponent takes command. She is punched in the stomach several times, strangled, and has her back wrenched from behind when her opponent pulls her arms. The fight ends with the heroine defeated when she is knocked out by a knee lift to the face.

I imagine many viewers are going to notice that there are some similarities between the first Heroine Academy episode and the Training Room series from Next Global Crisis. They’re both proving grounds for inexperienced heroines. They both take place in a room with brick walls and the heroines first opponent bears a strong resemblance to the drones that caused so many problems for the heroines in the Training Room. Again, there just wasn’t quite enough information given to see how the Heroine Academy is going to be different. Perhaps Logan can go into some detail on that?

If you’re not much into character development and you just want to see a great looking babe in peril, this is a good choice for you. I thought it was a solid first effort for a new series and I’m looking forward to see how the approach this story.

Hey all! I’m glad Sidekick brought up a few questions in this review. Here’s a few answers:

    1) “The Heroine Academy” is a public front for girls who want to become Heroines by receiving an injection of DNA-altering serum which will give them random powers and superhuman strength. The reality is that it is a group of crazed scientists who want free Guinea Pigs to test their side projects on – which sometimes result in superhuman strength and powers. It’s all a trick to get test dummies.

    2) We were supposed to have filmed a Title Screen opening that was going to explain all of this. We got engrossed in custom orders we have been producing and didn’t get the chance to film it, but also didn’t want to hold back on the release. “THA” was supposed to be longer, more involved, and sell at $19.99 or more. We adjusted the price due to its shorter content.

    3) The first episode for each girl is an Initiation to see if she is worthy of receiving the serum. She always loses but is given the opportunity to continue. Many of these girls go back and forth between here and “The Torture Chamber” as they receive their powers. On Round 2 of each Heroine, they are given a costume – for those who are going to inquire about costumes.

    4) When we decided to get the SITA costumes, we noticed that the producers of NGC must have went to a similar Army-Surplus store – we put together our SITAs from wardrobe there. We notice the similarities and are making an effort to ensure the differences between the series. I have seen an episode of NGC Training Room, but have not seen their Drones other than in photos. Our SITAs do transfer over into the main episode storyline though.

    5) Each “THA” will be priced according to length and content from now on, rather than a specific price point – as will other episodes soon. This will give us the fluctuating ability to concern ourselves with quality over quantity moving forward.

We would like to hear your reactions to all over our series and continue to read your feedback and suggestions as it helps us move forward with these films by including what you are looking for! Please reply to this post with some things you would like to see so we can work on incorporating some of it into our productions!!

Also, we have been producing a ton of customs and are happy with the feedback from them! If you are interested in a custom order, visit http://www.HeroineLegends.com and fill out the form under the Customs page so we can get started on producing your very own custom order!!

    Thanks all for watching!!

    Looks rather lame.

Kirk: We’re sorry you feel that way – it’s actually been selling very well! What would interest you in terms of a small mini-series like this?

I can’t speak for Kirk, but the model here is really hot (and that’s saying something because a lot of the women in the genre are very attracting), but I guess I prefer to see a beautiful model start out in a superheroine costume and slowly get taken out of it during a very harsh beatdown that ends in a convincing KO.

Haven’t seen this one yet, as I spent the last of the unoccupied weekly cash on my favorite thing ever, “The Torture Chamber”, but I like this idea. I like how you guys seem to be expanding the possibilities of this genre. I’m sure this won’t exactly excite those that MUST see a heroine in costume, but I definitely like all aspects of the “heroine lifestyle”, including origin type things. You never know when the next great web-grown heroine could get their start from the Academy.

DianaKnightMustLose: SuperHeroine costumes are coming soon! The purpose of our entire franchise was to show origins for these characters but it has backfired slightly for us. We are going to fast-forward and just show the Heroines in costume soon. Keep in mind we filmed A LOT in advance so our releases will gradually get there, but it won’t take too long!

jesuispain: I’m glad you enjoy the new concepts! While we intend to lengthen each “Heroine Academy” video after the 6th installment, we definitely do try to bring new concepts to the table on how you get to view each Heroine – like “The Torture Chamber”. We will continue to create new ideas and love the feedback we get from the ones we produce.

Everyone: Watch this and let us know what you think – what you liked, what you want changed, what you want to see more of/less of, etc! We will be releasing Episode 8 in a few days! :)

This was… kinda exactly what I want in a heroine movie. Hot girl. Good fight. Heroine loses. Simple formula, works for me. Don’t care about all the other complications that sidekick brought up personally.

For those of you who were waiting, Episode 1.8 is up and available on our website!

  • Jun. 15, 2012 at 4:30 pm

Episode 1.8 was killer! Probably my favorite so far… I didn’t even have high expectations for it.

There were a few transistions where the actress suddenly was in a different emotion or position from the last camera cut… but very minor issues.

Well done yet again! I LOVED IT.
