Heroine Legends has just released Cast of Shadows: Ground Zero Part 2 which is a terrific follow-up to the well-made premiere episode. It’s heavy on martial arts action with plenty of material that will please fans of fight-fetish material. Check out the review below.
In her civilian garb, the absolute knockout Celestia, shows up at the park where many fights in the HL universe have taken place. If I was a heroine I would probably avoid that park at all costs because things rarely seem to go well there.
She is confronted by two goons and uses some fancy air calligraphy to change into her revealing costume. After a nicely choreographed battle that includes some good special effect work, Celestia smokes her opponents. Literally. After she defeats them they turn into smoke. Something I liked about the battle was an editing choice that was made. Celestia was having an energy battle with one of the goons and the editor did a split screen of the two combatants. It kind of looked like a comic book panel, not unlike what Ang Lee did with the first Hulk movie. Boy was that movie bad. Not Ground Zero, the first Hulk movie.
Anyway, the big wrestler guy from previous Heroine Legends films appears out of nowhere and we get a type of fight scene that many people on the board have been looking for. One where a heroine takes on a larger, eminently stronger opponent and I think it was the highlight of the film. Celestia connects with her best martial arts blows which have little to no effect. The big guy dominates the fight until Jane (another absolute babe, no surprise) shows up and assists Celestia.
The two girls work together and take their opponent down. Jane leaves, but Celestia soon discovers that the big guy wasn’t as defeated as she thought and we’re left with a particularly brutal ending to the fight that I won’t spoil. As far as you fetish fans are concerned, there are low blows, bearhugs, throat lifts, a bevy of stomach punches and some good strangulation scenes.
I thought this was another strong episode and I’m looking forward to the upcoming conclusion. I like the cast, especially the big guy who has a great physical presence, but also has displayed some serious acting chops. Good work all around.
