Heroine Legends’ Episode 1.7 – Fighting Destiny

Heroine Legends' Episode 1.7 - Fighting DestinyHeroine Legends is back, and this time they’re firing both barrels. Not only did Heroine Legends just release a new Torture Chamber episode (which we’ll preview soon), but they’ve also released Episode 7 of their main story continuity—Fighting Destiny.

Fighting Destiny picks up on the story of Aurora, whom we last saw in the Episode 1.2 of this season. I thought Aurora had probably the best origin story all the Heroine Legends characters. If you recall, her mother was hit with an aura during pregnancy. Aurora survived; her mother did not. Most recently, a great number of people have started to take interest in Aurora as she continues to struggle as the Aura of Shadows threatens to take control of her psyche.

This is an episode heavy on fighting action. There is a battle between two male characters that to my recollection we have never met before. Aurora fights several of the martial arts baddies that premiered with her in Episode 1.2, a villainess fights the same martial arts guys, the martial arts guys fight each other, and Aurora briefly fights the villainess that she previously fought when her character premiered. Got all that? Good.

This may be a good time to point out that Aurora is played by two actresses in this episode. I’ve been a bit busy of late, but I think I remember Logan writing a comment that the original Aurora is no longer a part of the Heroine Legends cast. The original actress was well received, and it’s disappointing that she is gone, but I think the new Aurora picks up the role quite well and delivers an excellent performance. The producers just don’t ignore the change and give a reason for it, which I think is well executed both in a story and editing sense.

Aurora is choked, punched in the stomach, beaten on, and after repeated audience requests, hit with low blows. You have to give credit to Logan on that point, there’s been a big outcry for it, and he delivers for those fans who have repeatedly asked for it. Aurora is not the helpless heroine though as she gives as good as she gets in the fights.

As a fan of martial arts heavy fight scenes, I rather enjoyed this episode. The Heroine Legends universe is getting very big, and a lot of new characters have premiered lately. Even the slower talky moments have kept my interest, and I think the producers have done an admirable job of creating an engaging storyline. I’ll miss the old Aurora (who was a knockout), but Logan just picked another off of the hot chick tree he must have growing in his yard, and she did a great job.

Note: Heroine Legends has also released a new Torture Chamber episode. Look for a preview of that video here at Heroine Movies soon (and head over to Heroine Legends to purchase the videos.)

As always, looking forward to these! Quick question for Logan – I’m new to Apple products. Can a Heroine Legends fan download these episodes to an IPad? (forgive me if the question seems dumb!)

  • May. 29, 2012 at 6:05 pm

Aldous: As far as I know, there is no way to download a movie file from your email or Payloadz to your iPad because of the limitations of Apple OS. It’s not meant to be a computer as they say. I do know they make applications to store movie files so technically, you could download them to a computer then transfer them to your iPad either through the app or using iTunes. Thanks for being a fan!!

Got this one. One of there better ones. It’s a good one for those low blow lovers!

    Re:iPad videos

There’s not a straight way to do it, but there are several apps that will let you do it. I use one called GPlayer that will play any file. You just add it to its folder in iTunes. There are others as well, but I know that one works well.

Love Becky from todays new training room. Also nice to see a heroine in tights in your films. Will she be in an upcoming episode? If so, I hope she has a knockout scene!

  • May. 29, 2012 at 9:58 pm

Are these lowblows of the f/f variety? Thanks for anyone who can answer.

  • May. 29, 2012 at 10:00 pm

    M: Glad you enjoyed!!

jo: Becky will be in episode 1.9 – she is KO’d.

    Agent E-45: These are M/F low-blows.

    I *love* the new Aurora!

Thanks for answering that Logan, I appreciate it!

This looks quite promising, and I am quite likely to buy it just to see the last performance of the old Aurora. From the screencaps I am not so sure about the new girl, but I will withhold my judgment until I see the whole video. Logan, I know the old Aurora has left your company, but what was the reason? It is such a shame because she really was incredibly hot and a very good actress IMHO.

  • May. 30, 2012 at 12:32 am

Oh yeah, I am also looking forward to the review of the new torture chamber and to get some feedback from the users who have bought it, If it is anything like the first one it will be an almost definite buy for me even though I am not a big fan of tights.

    Agent E-45: Of course!

mantower: Without getting into too much detail, there are many actors in Hollywood that don’t understand professionalism and unfortunately become very hard to work with due to an ego and lots of inexperience. Whether they are talented or not, it’s not worth the hassle and we are forced to let them go – though we do agree that she was attractive and talented as well.

  • May. 30, 2012 at 7:52 am

Logan, I fully agree. No matter how hot or talented you are, if you are a pain in the ass and very difficult to work with it isn’t worth the trouble. Shame, but I totally understand you point. Looking forward t the review of the new torture chamber! Judging by the lack of a trailer that sales of TC2 didn’t spike as a result of the trailer being put up? I don’t mind there being no trailer, it would be useful but I understand that there are only so many hours in a day and you have to prioritize. Keep up the awesome work man!

Damn, really liked the old Aurora. One of my favorite heroines, obviously looked great, but was able to portray a strong, assertive, and convincing character in the process even during peril scenes. Something the new Aurora lacked.

Anyway, it was weird to see the heroine get so little screen time. There was a lot of extraneous fighting, including M vs M fights. I would assume that had a lot to do with storybuilding as well as casting issues. Ideally you want the heroine dominating almost the entire screen time. But I have to admit, those scenes did make me want to see the heroine scenes that much more.

Good video anyway. Will miss the old Aurora.

Been following these guys for a while now, and I’ve never bought anything from them. I jumped for joy when I heard they would include low blows in their movies, and bought this as soon as I saw it.

The low blows are well-done and convincing. The main heroine gets put in a full nelson and punched low by another dude. While her reaction is perfectly acted in that she doesn’t scream bloody murder but you know she still really felt it as she bends over as best she can, she is in a restrained position so she also can’t hold herself; it’s a trade-off. Later on in the fight she is put in another full nelson and punched 3 times, and elbowed (nice) in the privates. Again, she’s in a full nelson so she can’t hold herself. However, what’s great about this scene is that while I normally don’t care for the “rapid-busts-in-succession” thing, she is given enough time between the hits to sell them: this is something a lot of producers DON’T DO and I wish MORE WOULD :). Awesome work!

What I liked: Lots of fighting. There is an M/F fight, a F/F fight, and an M/M (?) fight. The fighting is pretty well choreographed, pretty much on par with the choreography seen in the videobydallas’ movies (e.g. Slayer Paris, Prostyle Fantasies, Catfight Fantasies). The main actress (who gets busted) is really hot. I also really like the fact that a talented producer is now including low blows in their movies!

What I didn’t like: This movie is pretty plot-heavy, there’s a lot of talking. Also, I would have loved the busts more if they were F/F (personal preference). $25 is also a little more than I usually pay for videos.

    Overall, a great movie.

has the ‘watch now’ option been deactivated for this episode?

  • May. 30, 2012 at 11:56 pm

mantower: You’re right. We had absolutely no impact in sales. No change whatsoever after a full week of the trailer being posted so we have reverted back to only having a picture to sell it. We do understand that some viewers won’t be happy with just a photo, but like you said, it’s a matter of juggling the time to make a trailer for it as simple of a concept as it may be – we are already working 7 days a week, backlogged. Also, there should be a post up soon for “TTC3”. :)

Chris: Yeah, it was a difficult decision to cut ties but if we don’t stick with professionalism and treat everyone with the same “rules” then we get stepped on. She was a great actress and sold the character very well, but we’ve had positive feedback from the new actress as well so it’s a wash overall. As for the Heroine’s screen time, she still had the bulk of the movie – just in segments. Again, that was a result of hiring a new actress to take on the lead and still being able to film when the original Aurora decided not to show up to set that day. This is the only time we’ve had this issue. Glad you still enjoyed the episode!

Whitman: Glad we finally got to the low-blow crowd. We filmed so many in advance that by the time we got any feedback from releases, we were already, as you can see, on Episode 7. Our movies balance out – some are more plot-heavy than others – there’s a lot of different types to try and please. Some follow only for the story, some for the peril, some for the costumes, some for the actress… you get the point. We try and please as many as possible. Happy you still enjoyed the film!

mell: The “Watch Now” option has not yet been enabled. It takes a little longer to get the video up onto that site. We are also considering discontinuing that option. While we’ve had quite a few people opt for that viewing method, we’ve not yet been able to justify it’s cost. We have a short time left before we need to decide whether to keep it or nix it.

Glad this Episode is being received well! Episode 1.8 with a new Heroine (the same girl from “TTC1”, Lilac, will be available next week! Stay tuned!!

@Logan I understand and I agree 100%. I’m glad you still got a very good video out of it.

  • May. 31, 2012 at 11:39 am

Episode 1.7 is up and posted for Pay-per-View via the site now!

    Bravo Logan,

I’m amazed by how much of my feedback was acted out in this episode! I wasn’t happy to hear that the actress would be changing, although after hearing the comments about the fallout, I’m starting to dig this new girl :).

I loved the whole holding the heroine helpless with her body lengthened. She was held against her will in a compromising position that show’s off her body, and she can’t fight back. It was perfect because it also wasn’t exaggerated in a way that takes away from the rest of the film. A+ my man.

I wasn’t a big fan of the new TTC episode, but I loved that chics sass! I would have liked to have seen her forced into situations where she was more vulnerable. but it’s whatever! I really have a hard time bitching about anything you do.

I think the old Aurora was probably one of the best as far as the total package of acting and looks, although… this new girl did execellent the first time out. Few changes and getting a little more experiance and she’ll be killer. Can’t wait.

Pretty interested in checking out the latest episode of Torture Chamber, but with only one pic up of two people just standing there, I’ve got no idea what I’d be dropping 16 bucks – and I’m not a gambling man. If you’re deadset against making a trailer, what about just putting up a few more pics to give people a sense of what they’d be spending money on?

  • May. 31, 2012 at 8:39 pm

@Scion – FYI, I should have a post up in a couple of days with some screen shots from the third Torture Chamber video.

  • May. 31, 2012 at 10:08 pm

That’s great, I just don’t see why HL wouldn’t just put them up on the actual page for the Torture Chamber – seems like it’d make more sense to me.

  • May. 31, 2012 at 11:37 pm

mblostprophet: Now you know when I say we are listening, that we truly are! 😉 The TTC Episode was definitely less submissive on this episode, but some fans were asking for that so we gave it to them. I honestly can’t remember TTC4 but I’m excited for TTC5!

Scion: We’ve contemplated screenshots on the webpage, but again, we had them up and sales didn’t change so we opted to only put up one photo. Each episode is very basic and the photo says it all for this mini-series. That’s our reasoning for only having one photo up. They are purchased far more than the main series episodes and they only have one photo up. When things work out this way, you find it hard to justify setting time aside to capture, log, and post screenshots, or create a trailer – it just isn’t necessary. I know we may lose a few sales, but we already tested the trailer theory out and had zero impact.

HM: Thanks for posting a response!! :)
