Next Global Crisis is well known for their exceptional story telling, but sometimes they take an opportunity to simplify things and do a non-canon film without any large story implications. And that’s what you get with Bluebird: Unbeatable, starring Claire Elise.
[Beware spoilers!] The first thing you’ll notice is that when Bluebird shows up, she’s wearing her costume from the Bluebird 2020 mini-series. And I love that because I think it’s her best fitting costume and something about it just accentuates Claire’s already perfect form.
Anyway, when the fights starts, Bluebird is cocky, even going as far as to not use her hands in a fight against three goons. And she starts off well enough knocking down the first two, but the third goon (the biggest one) hits her with an uppercut. And this causes Bluebird to go all out, fists and all, and she drops him to the ground.
But then all three attack at once, and the largest goon holds her arms while the second strangles her and the third hits a volley of stomach punches. The biggest goon then picks her up in an over the shoulder back breaker and the other goons help by pulling downward on her arms and legs.
Bluebird is placed back on the floor and this is where the film splits into two different endings. One in which her “second wind” power activates and she takes the goons out. And another where she is strangled unconscious.
Again, this is about as simple as an NGC film gets storyline wise. With credits and both endings, this film runs just a bit over eight minutes, which explains the low price. But simple doesn’t mean it’s not entertaining and Claire Elise looks better then ever. I think most NGC fans will be pleased with this one.
