America’s favorite (or maybe only) “vampire exorcist” returns in Sanguin-X – Episode 2: “…When the Great Sleep Has Come to an End.” This sequel features an all-star cast of fetish actresses—Nicole Oring, Christina Carter and Diana Knight—in a story with the same basic elements as the first episode: vampires and demonic possession, but with the added element of a police procedural-style storyline, with Christina Carter as an FBI agent investigating the mysterious death of a young girl. So if Episode 1 was a mix between Blade and The Exorcist, then perhaps Episode 2 adds a dash of The X-Files. In any event, it’s all really fun and I recommend it for fans of the heroine peril genre looking for something a little darker in tone than the average superheroine video.
After a four-minute recap of the previous episode, we begin with a terrified Nicole Oring being chased by an unseen pursuer, whom we later learn is a vampire of some sort who proceeds to feast on Nicole Oring’s blood (while fondling her breasts). (And why not? Come to think of it, why doesn’t this happen all the time in vampire movies? The entire act of sucking blood and lusting after virgins is so downright sexual anyway that it’s actually kind of bizarre to think that vampires wouldn’t also get touchy-feely with their victims).
In the next scene, FBI Special Agent Christina Carter is doing some chasing of her own. She tracks down a bad guy in an alley and while apprehending him, receives orders to investigate a new killing, which may be the dirty work of the serial killer, “The Ex-Sanguinator.” Carter agrees to be placed back on the case and learns that “the file is already on her desk.” (You have to love the classic cop movie cliches.) In the meantime, Catrin, played by Diana Knight, is approached once again by Father Jonah (Rifferus), who asks Catrin to investigate the same case.
Carter arrives at the evil warehouse and meets Darius, who seems to know something about the killing. Carter is clearly freaked out by Darius (what is he doing in this empty warehouse after all?), and her suspicions are confirmed when Darius knocks her out and ties her up by her wrists. Darius (now revealed as a vampire) tortures Carter, exposes her breasts, slaps her, bites her neck and then sexually assaults her. Before he can deliver what might have been the death blow, Catrin arrives (just in the nick of time, although prior to the torture and sexual assault might have been slightly more heroic).
As in the first episode, Catrin proves a totally unworthy adversary and loses the battle, only to be beaten and humiliated by her opponent. Catrin is carried away by Darius as Carter lies helpless and weakened on the floor. So things really didn’t work out for our heroines in this episode, but hopefully we’ll see what happens in future episodes.
I enjoyed Episode 2 as much as the previous episode and look forward to he next installment (if one is planned). I like all of the performances here, especially Christina Carter, who actually makes a pretty convincing FBI agent and an even more believable victim. Check it out and leave comments below!
