Supergirl vs. Nuclearman – Coming Soon!

It looks like we’ll soon have a new, epic Supergirl vs. Nuclearman production written, produced and directed by Rye (creator of Avalon and Punished Heroines) and possibly distributed by SHG-Media and The Battle for Earth.  This is a very interesting project and has potential, in my opinion, to be huge in terms of the independently produced superheroine genre.

So, what do we know so far?  What kind of movie will this be?  Rye has addressed the issue on this message board, and I’ve assembled a few facts here for those of you looking forward to this film (as I am).

UPDATE #1

Here’s an update on Rye’s Supergirl vs. Nuclear project, including some new photos!

According to Rye, the actor playing Nuclear Man was so big, the original costume wouldn’t fit, so a solution had to be improvised.  Shooting seems to have gone well, and the actress looks great as Supergirl, so I hope we all get to see the finished product as soon as possible.

Though many things followed the script, I was forced to change some scenes around.
Those of you that read the script will recognize several pics from the story and many others that were not in the script. I didn’t get to all the diaogue that I wanted… especially between Spawn and Lester. Much of the dialogue I had to cut was replaced with peril for those that wanted more.

The actor playing Nuke man was sooooo damn big there simply wasn’t anything to cloth him in so I had him go without a shirt which actually turned out well. Aside from being a giant of a man he is also freaking ripped and made our 5’8″ Superiorgirl look tiny to say the least. I was forced to change the ending for both ep 1 and 2… Long story and I won’t dull you with the details. The only scene from the script I didn’t get to shoot that I really wanted to was the Krpto-ray gun but I replaced it with Nuke man surrounding Superiorgirl with multiple shards and rubbing them against her

I was VERY happy with how the actress looked as Linda! As you will see from the pics she looks like a dorky college student but has some strange sex appeal to her.
I was equally as happy with how she looked as Superiorgirl. The shoot was upkirt central and she was a good sport about everything.

I am happy with her performance and it was her first superheroine shoot so please cut her some slack. With each movie I do with her she will get more and more comfortable in the role.

I didn’t have the villain call himself nuclear man because I want Spawn to create a second Nuke man but with Superiorgirl’s DNA instead. I plan on Superiorgirl killing this nukeman and Spawn creating Nucleargirl and the second nuke man in Episode 3.

Original Post

1. Supergirl will be played by this actress:

2. The costume will be based on the classic Supergirl outfit from the 1984 Helen Slater film:

3. Nuclearman will be the villain, and so will a new character called Nucleargirl.

I like this idea because it gives Supergirl two evil villains to fight, raising the tension level, and because there’s an interesting bit of trivia that makes this idea appealing.  Nuclear Man originated in the 1987 film Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.  The final cut of the film was trimmed by about 45 minutes, and a major subplot was completely eliminated.  This subplot involved a character called “Nuclearman 1,” which was a completely different version of Nuclearman (originally “Nuclearman 2″).  You can watch a deleted scene with this original Nuclearman character here:

Judging from that, I can’t imagine why these scenes were cut :).  Anyway, I like the idea of having two evil nuclear-based characters instead of one since that was the original intention behind Superman IV anyway.  (And Nucleargirl will probably be an attractive girl rather than a middle aged guy who resembles Meatloaf.)

4. We’ll be getting both an original storyline and an original soundtrack (composed by Rye himself – he’s a Renaissance man!)

5. It will probably be a “Punished Heroines” style movie, but most likely without nudity.

I’ve been assured by Rye that although there is no nudity, there is a lot of high sexual tension, as Nuclearman wants Supergirl “in a bad way!”

6. Here’s some plot information from Rye:

I am taking the Doomsday approach with NuclearGirl and NuclearMan being created by the Government in the event that Supergirl ever went rogue.

NuclearGirl will be created from a highly trained government hitwoman. NuclearMan will be created from the only person Nucleargirl can love but can never have. Nuclearman will be a highly unstable individual and secretly obsessed with Supergirl long before he gets his superpowers. While human he is publicly turned down by Supergirl and feels humiliated which motivates him to accept the Nuclear Project.

NuclearGirl is created first and has a hard fought battle with supergirl as a test. She later becomes consumed with her powers and turns on the Government.

After seeing how NuclearGirl handled SuperGirl, and her recent decpetions, the Government tries to terminate the NuclearMan project as they fear he will do the same and his projected powers are nearly double of NuclearGirl.

This of course fails…

Now as a super powered goliath Nuclearman decides he WILL have SuperGirl, and nothing will stop him…

NuclearGirl learns of Nuclearman’s Obession for SuperGirl and is consumed by hatred for the Girl of Steel!

After making it clear that she is not anyone’s property, SuperGirl must now face both of her impossible advasaries to all but save the earth from destruction. One set on owning her, and the other that can echo nothing but “Destroy SuperGirl”

Anyway, this sounds like a ridiculously exciting project to me, and quite ambitious.  Let’s wish Rye the best of luck completing this film.  It sounds like it could be big.
