Rye’s “Divinity” from SHG-Media

Trailer for Rye's "Divinity" from SHG-MediaUPDATE: See the review from reader Mark below!

Here’s the Heroine Movies exclusive trailer for SHG-Media’s new video Divinity, directed by Rye. Looks like a new Powergirl-based character, although this video presumably does not take place in the “Punished Heroines” universe. A reader by the name of Mark sent in the following review…

Rye's "Divinity" from SHG-MediaRye's "Divinity" from SHG-MediaRye's "Divinity" from SHG-MediaRye has released his latest film entitled Divinity. If memory serves, it is his first release since parting ways with The Battle for Earth. I bring this up because I think this release may have originally been intended to be a Battle for Earth product. It’s cast includes familiar faces from earlier TBFE videos and references characters from some of those videos by name. Perhaps Rye can shed some light on this. Anyway, on to the review.

The video opens with the heroine Divinity entering a villains lair in order to rescue a damsel in distress. After quite openly (and comically) questioning the damsels intelligence, Divinity is attacked by a soldier like henchman. Divinity quickly knocks him to the ground and starts to walk out with the hostage. However, with the help of a Blackberry like device, the henchman is able to power himself up and keep fighting. This cycle repeats itself until the henchman is a physical equal, if not superior to Divinity. After a few minutes of fighting, Divinity is able to get behind the henchman and snap his neck.

However, she is attacked from behind by an incredibly powerful Gorilla who spends the better part of five minutes pounding on Divinity. The gorillas assault is only interrupted by orders from an unseen villain who informs the gorilla that a third henchman named Gunther has recaptured the damsel. You may recognize the character of Gunther from an earlier TBFE release. Divinity squares off against Gunter and lands several punches, none of which hurt Gunther in the slightest. What follows is basically a fifteen minute beat down of the heroine by Gunther, who gets some assistance from the gorilla in dismantling Divinity. The video ends leaving the short term safety of Divinity very much in doubt.

If you’re a fan of Rye’s work there is a ton to like here. There are backbreakers, full nelsons, bear hugs, low blows, small scenes of a heroine dominating, and large scenes of a heroine getting dominated. I think the thing that I was most impressed with was the actress that played Divinity. I think she is a new face to the genre but I can’t recall ever seeing a better actress for this kind of film. Just top notch work. I hope to see more from her soon.

The only criticism I can level is that I think this video could have used a little more time in the editing room to make it a little tighter. Otherwise, it is another good addition to Rye’s ever growing collection.

Up until now, my favorite Rye movie has been the first Avalon episode. There was a lot of non-fight material in that video, but it worked well and the fighting that was in it was awesome. In my opinion, this one is even better and represents his best work to date.

The movie is almost all battle scenes, so no worries about too much filler. There is some storyline though, which is really nice. The best thing about this movie, and what separates it from much of Rye’s previous work, is the way the heroine doesn’t instantly transition from being dominant to being imperiled. Her confidence is shattered bit by bit as she faces off with three different villains. It is very effective to see her slowly realize that she is over-matched.

There’s plenty of fighting action here, with enough variety to keep pretty much every fan happy. I particularly enjoyed the multiple over-the-knee back-breakers. I’ve always wanted to see a heroine subjected to this move several times in a row, and it really works well.

The woman playing Divinity is probably the best actress I’ve seen in this genre. (I was sure I’d seen her before and I finally figured out from where. She was the loony blond villain in an Agent Eve video from a couple years ago.) She delivers lines in a really believable way does a great job of drawing out the collapse of her cocky attitude. Rye comes through with some good camera work and nice use of slo-mo.

It’s hard to imagine anyone being too disappointed with this video. I’m looking forward to others opinions of it.

Thanks Bert, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the review.

I believe you might be thinking of a different actress though as this particular person hasn’t been in a superheroine video before πŸ˜‰

    Very good!

I recomend !!! The bearhugs are awesome!!! A good video WITHOUT any nudity or any extreme violence. Rye should continue on this road.

Hey, some of us enjoy the nudity and violence! I’m sure rye will continue to make these, especially for shg-media. But I hope he continues to make the other material for the rest of us!

Well, as soon I saw that costume I was reaching for my wallet. God, I love it. And I loved the movie. I thought that “The Vengeance Factor” would be a tough act to follow (it was amazing, and I can’t stop watching it), but Divinity came really, really close to matching its brilliance.

Great action throughout…I love how Rye uses bodyslams and bearhugs. One particularly awesome sequence has the heroine being scooped up bodyslam style, but then she was given repeated backbreakers (up & down and up & down again). Great stuff.

The actress was excellent. As the previous poster said, she delivered her lines really well and her facial expressions were great throughout the video. Lookswise it’s hard to compete with Ashley from Vengeance, but this actress looked fantastic and had a great ass (very important to me :). It particularly looks incredible during a great carried OTS scene. I just love those!

As usual, Rye’s production skills are topnotch. My only minor complaint, and this probably because I’m a total perv LOL, was that you really couldn’t see her ass on a couple of the bearhugs (there were 3, I think). You could see it hanging out a times (or as the cape swung), but the cape pretty much obscured it. But don’t be discoraged, on one of the bearhugs you could see her ass perfectly, as the cape was pulled to the side in a natural sort of way. Amazing view on that one! Like I said, a minor criticism, but we do buy these movies at least in part for ass, so I thought it was worth mentioning. The bearhugs in this costume are just heavenly as they always gives the heroine a massive wedgie. I love those!

Anyway, Rye continues making the best superheroine movies that I’ve ever seen. Buy it and enjoy!

Really enjoyed this video. The actress was really good, who is she? Will she be in future Punished Heroines style videos?

I really enjoyed this video too even though I didn’t find the actress that attractive. She still did an awesome job with the role. I can’t quite put my finger on it but one of the main reasons I think this video was good was becasue it did not feel bogged down by all the sex stuff. It was just a nice beat’em up video.

I love sex stuff but sometimes it just brings down the video as a whole. Here it does not feel constrained to that and the video shines. My favorite part were all the shots of the heroine on the ground and with the villain bending down to taunt her. Would love to see more shot of a heroine on the ground, especially in a revealing costume like this one.

My only complaint is the nude colored underwear that the actress was wearing underneath the costume. I assume its there becasue the actress requested it to prevent camel toe but it was very distracting and took me out of the element. Other than that I really enjoyed the video.

Thanks guys. I was going to avoid this one, based on the trailer, but I think I’ll give it a purchase reading your comments!

Hey thanks guys! Feedback is always helpful!

It’s been a while since I gave something away so here is your chance at a free 5 minute scene in my next movie. The content of the free scene must be within my normal guidelines πŸ˜‰

In the video below I played 3 songs on my guitar and the first person that names them wins! You must name the song titles.. The artist does not count πŸ˜‰

    Good luck!

also should say that you’re quite adept at playing in what appears to be a classical style–you should try tackling some Villa-Lobos or Barrios, haha

This was a pretty good video. I thought $25 was a little steep for a video with absolutely no nudity, but the acting is very good, the costume is sexy, and her reactions are great. I would have liked to have seen just a little bit of fondling in this video, but besides that it was a worthwhile purchase. I would like to see a video like this with just a little bit of the sexual stuff, instead of it being all or nothing.
