Next Global Crisis has just released Triple Threat, the 13th episode of the Training Room series. As you may have deduced from the title, this particular episode features three different combatants. Specifically, Magenta, Nina Hellfire and Sebastian Luner.
A further twist is that one of the three combatants is always locked down and is forbidden from participating in the fight. The locked down character changes during the course of the episode, and this results in a few different one-on-one battles. As with most Training Room films, the focus is on fighting and not so much on peril. There is a scene where a character strangles another one unconscious, using a belt. There is also a low blow delivered from one female to another, via kick. That’s about it for specific peril scenes.
My favorite aspect of this episode was the mix of characters and the development of one in particular. The actor who played Sebastian Luner was good as usual, and I always love to see Nina Hellfire. She seems to be a real wild card on the Elite Force roster, and it will be interesting to see in what direction they take her character in the future.
I think, however, that fans are going to take particular notice of Magenta in this episode. Magenta did not initially seem to be embraced by the fan community as much as, say, Suki Deluxe. To be honest, I didn’t remember much about the character until I watched the two earlier episodes that she appeared in for a second time.
The actress looked good in her other appearances, but with her hair down she looks absolutely stunning. Her character has also gained a great deal of confidence and more control over her powers, which is a complete 180 from her earlier incarnation. It was a really well thought out, well written and well acted character transformation. The NGC producers and the actress deserve a lot of credit for reinventing Magenta. I hope we see a lot more of her.
I would love to hear what you thought about “Triple Threat.”
