Sorry to hijack again but if anyone is interested in trying to commission a group custom to get Athena back, please contact athenacustomngc@gmail.com. We probably only need one or two more to get it going so do send an email if you want in!

Side note from the other poster, does anyone know what happened to Athena?

Last we saw she was tied to a chair and at the mercy of some thug and never saw her again in any releases

As a rule, I tend not to comment on customs that I commission only because I know that it’s impossible for me to be impartial to some degree but I’ll make an exception for this one. Take what I’m about to say with a couple tablespoons of salt here but I thought this was a fantastic film. The fighting, the production values, the setting, the acting all combine to create an awesome film that has been on repeat in my collection for a couple weeks now (I got this film earlier in the month since it is my custom though its repeat value has been dampened a bit since Starshot came out last week).

The Lady Victory actress was spectacular but that goes without saying really. Here’s the thing. Starshot is the best seller of peril and there can be no question about that in mind. Lady Victory though, with this appearance and her appearance in last month’s action cosplay, makes a great case for second place. It’s crazy that she can take a two year hiatus, come back, film for a couple days or so and be just as amazing, just as great, just as wonderful as she was when she was a regular cast member of the fail safe sister series. She sells the peril that she suffers great and she’s a great actress too.

Much of the fight chorography I specified based on my taste and how I feel a SHIP films should progress. The fight starts with Lady Victory on the front foot, really taking it to Commander Curse (the villain) and here the actress shows of her athletic ability well. Just when it looks like the heroine has prevailed though, the Commander delivers a powerful uppercut that rocks Lady Victory and it’s goes completely downhill from there in an unrelenting fashion. It’s not a vicious beatdown (thankfully) but it’s one where Lady Victory is subjected to bear hugs, slammed into the ground, punched, back broken and stretched. She also has her hair pulled off the ground several times which were my personal favorites. Especially the one where she’s dragged off the floor and Commander gloats to all of Unity City in regards to how weak Lady Victory is while the heroine is in his clutches. I don’t know why I love these hair pulling moves. I guess it’s something about seeing the heroine completely at the mercy of the villain while being in pain and the reactions to it usually more than a split second and Lady Victory sells all of them really well. It’s also a beatdown where she’s knocked out twice. Once after she was placed into two bearhugs and a second time in the end where after she verbally submits to Commander Curse, the villain kicks her in the face and places her foot on her defeated body. The only thing better than Lady Victory knocked out on the floor, crushed under the heel of Commander Curse was seeing Lady Victory chained to a chair, struggling against her bonds before passing out again.

The one other thing I really enjoyed about the fight aside from Lady Victory’s awesome reactions, is just how effortlessly things flowed between open space and the wall. Made for a really exciting, really intense, smooth and dynamic fight.

The only thing ‘wrong’—if that’s even the right word—was that I wish the beatdown section in the latter half was just a minute or so longer. I have no idea why I feel this way other than every time I watch this video, I’m left wanting after Lady Victory gets knocked out for the last time. Truth be told, even though I feel that way, I’m not sure what else I could add. Everything flowed so nicely that it would be difficult to add to it and not make it feel repetitive.

Regardless, this is my opinion appended to my custom so mileage may vary here but I’m getting a ton of mileage on this one. I’m happy with it. It’s definitely my favorite Lady Victory outing thus far. I’m sure many people would be happy with it also.

One day I’ll be able to afford a custom on this site. Must be a great feeling to see your ideas come to fruition onscreen with all the quality production and acting NGC has accostumed us with.

Victory Day ! Woo hoo !

Gulp. Lady Victory is my favorite combination of actress and costume. This video shows her getting crushed in a way rarely seen in NGC vids. When a SHIP fan like me ends up pulling for the heroine to overcome her desperate situation, something special is going on. This is the first must-buy video I’ve seen in quite a while. Kudos, NGC. A stellar effort.

This week’s photoset was wonderful. I hesitate calling any photoset my favorite but this one is seriously making me re-consider that. The bondage pictures of Lady Victory chained to the chair just might be better than that same scene in the video itself.

And speaking of photosets, last week’s photoset of MalaciaCat was amazing too. Malacia looked pretty hot in that catsuit. I’ve resisted the call of wanting to turn her into a good girl in the main story (she’s just such an AMAZING villainess) but I certainly would welcome seeing her as this feline heroine in Action Cosplay. I think it’ll suit her personality a lot.

I’m a Fail-Safe Sisters superfan, so I’m very excited to see another entry. Sounds like this is intended to close out the continuity, which is bittersweet, since it’s such an interesting and fruitful setting and premise. It’s very nice to get some resolution after the cliffhanger ending of the last (chronological) entry. Still, I’m hoping (against hope, perhaps) that there might still be some chance of dipping back into the FSS universe in the future with one-offs or mini-series, even if it meant recasting the Sisters (IIRC, the heroines were titles and could be replaced by someone else.) “Tales from Lockdown City” anyone?

    • Next Global Crisis says:

Yes it’s allowed by the story to recast, I’d just expect a backlash!

      • Dr Mabuse says:

Maybe so, but it’s not like you’re casting a new actress to play the same woman, it would be a new woman assuming the mantle of a previous heroine. That kind of thing happens in comics all the time and it never gets pushback… wait, never mind.

But seriously, casting at NGC has been off the charts in the last few years; I’m sure somebody new would look good in the Shadowstar costume (Lucy Z sure did.) I am grateful to get closure, but hate to see a great series disappear completely.

Speaking of which, I won’t be able to get the new FSS video until next week, but I’ll take a moment now to say that if anyone’s become a NGC fan recently and hasn’t checked out the Fail-Safe Sisters videos (most date back to Season 2, 4-5 years ago) you should do that right now. The story is fantastic, and the FSS themselves are all dynamite (there’s even one called Dynamite Doll.) Like what you’ve seen of Lady Victory or Lucy Zillion? There’s plenty more where that came from. Shadowstar is a goddess. They’re on the main NGC website in the Season 2 menu (and a couple in Season 3.) You’re welcome.

Has the Backbreaker also been shot from the front or only from the side???

  9. Dr G says:

Lady Victory ! Hell Yeah !!!

  10. pbslater says:

This will be epic. She’s the most charming and fit heroine ever.

Great to see a return from a classic heroine!
