“Miss Freedom Trapped” from NGC
This eerie non-canon mission finds Miss Freedom seemingly in quite a traditional trap. With flashbacks of a fight that she lost, she wakes up chained to a chair with no one around. Just as she is getting her bearings, a loud voice is heard over a speaker system. It is reading out various charges of crimes that Miss Freedom has supposedly committed. Some seem probable while others are preposterous. Using her super strength to make short work of the chains, she then finds the cell she is in is unlocked. She steps through the door to find herself back in the cell again. Whoever laid this trap has sinister powers indeed.
Miss Freedom works to find an end to this spiral but it is clearly taking her deeper until she finds herself faced with a Darkheart captain. What follows is a brutal fight between heroine and her bizarre captor with heavy and rapid hits, painful holds, with a sense of doom hanging over the entire event. Can our heroine find a way out of this trap? Or will she come face to face with her greatest fears?

This week you get some unseen footage from Steel Sister’s debut. She only appeared in 2 films and this was her only purely solo outing. Some really nice footage combining action with modelling for promo shots, 2 and a half minutes plus.
This gift video will be removed 48 hours after the members email has been sent out on Friday.

I got this one a few days ago. Miss Freedom has always been a favorite for me and I’m glad NGC stuck with her classic costume for this vid. The strengths of the video are Miss Freedom and her ability to both dish out and take and convey punishment. I also enjoyed the brief bit of bondage we got. I wish we could have seen her being bound as part of the time loop feel of the piece, sort like with the Bluebird vid where she’s constantly being drugged, beaten, and tied up again. I think the one thing I… Read more »
This looks really cool, I’m definitely going to check it out!
I enjoyed this. In fact, having seen it once I really want to watch it again. I liked the setting; the row of old chairs gave it an old police station or court room feel which fitted perfectly with the scenario. The list of Miss Freedom’s crime was interesting; solicitation? Really?! I mean I know her skirt is a bit ‘north of the knee’ but… Miss Freedom’s on fine form here. I enjoyed watching her walking down the stairs and out the door in that time loop (although at one point I was thinking “Miss F, get a clue, it’s… Read more »
I think you liked it a bit more than I did, Rob, but oddly enough, I liked a lot of the things you highlighted here. Miss Freedom does tend to fold pretty quickly when she starts to lose, and her struggles with resolve have been a consistent theme of her character since she lost her nigh-invincibility in the first season. I feel like I could’ve written this review instead of the one I did below. It’s all a question of expectations. Mine were perhaps too high, so I felt disappointed, but from another perspective there were several things to like… Read more »
You make a good point about expectations Dr. When I saw that the latest story on the NGC site featured Miss Freedom I almost passed; I’ve never really ‘got’ Miss Freedom as a character but I liked the creepy, horror story angle and I was impressed by some of pictures so I took a chance and I’m glad I did. Interesting point about solicitation too, wikipedia defines it as – “The crime of “solicitation to commit a crime” occurs when a person encourages, “solicits, requests, commands, importunes or otherwise attempts to cause another person to commit a crime”. I thought… Read more »
Man, every time I post a comment criticizing something NGC doesn’t do enough of, they make a liar out of me by following up with an example of just the thing I want to see. A couple weeks ago, I complained that there isn’t enough bondage in NGC videos, and naturally this week it looks like we get a nice scene of Miss Freedom chained to a chair (even if briefly.) Of course, that’s not the only reason I’m counting the hours until this one comes out. First, Miss Freedom! And she looks stunning. Second, seems like this is one… Read more »
I really wanted to love this one, but having watched it (just once, I might give it another view later this weekend) I can only say I liked it. What did I like? I appreciated the eerie tone that the video sets, although I think it was only somewhat successful. Miss F spends a bit of time exiting one door only to reenter the same room. I’d say the time spent on this was worth it to establish the unnerving feeling of being trapped, but I can see why someone might think this went on too long. I liked the… Read more »
Can’t forgive Miss Freedom for abandoning Bluebird (then again, if she hadn’t we wouldn’t have had ‘The Grudge’ so I guess every cloud does have a silver lining!) but this looks really good! I like the idea of a ‘spiral’ or ‘loop’ type trap and this also looks like it has a slight ‘horror movie’ tint to it (something I think NGC would be really good at!).
Roll on Friday! 🙂
I too have not forgiven Miss Freedom for her MANY sins of the past. I still hold her responsible for the deaths of Celestia and Athena. In many ways, one can say the opened ended fate of Bluebird at the hands of Alaric is also her fault. I think that she is a seriously flawed individual whose leadership abilities should be called into question and I honestly see her one day making a decision that will seriously jeopardize the fate of a heroine down the line. That said, I’m looking forward to this. And its a non-cannon entry so it’ll… Read more »
I hear you Darkwrath. Funnily enough, you’ve touched on one of the many things I love about NGC; their characters are three dimensional, they’re people with weaknesses and character flaws, not just pretty girls standing around waiting to be assaulted. Also, they hire performers with the talent to pull it off.And this story looks like it’s going to be a tour-de-force for Miss Freedom.
Maybe I’m a bit confused…I didn’t think that Athena died. Isn’t her last canon episode Invasion (https://nextglobalcrisis.com/releases/season-3-episode-9/)? She is alive at the end of that episode.
Yeah I’m confused too, what happened with Athena? I don’t recall her dying in a vid.
It’s an offscreen death that was spoken about. I keep on forgetting whether it was Season 4 episode 1 “The Trial” that it was said or whether it was said in Season 4 episode 11 “Hell and Back”. Could be both actually. Also, in Season 4 episode 10, when Miss Freedom got the upper hand over the Harbinger towards the end of the cannon ending, I remember her saying something along the lines of “this is for Athena” before she knocked the villainess out.
Basically what Darkwrath said. I recently watched an interview with Paul McCartney and he said that other people remember far more about The Beatles than he does when it comes to specific songs, dates, details. Obviously I’m not comparing NGC to The Beatles(!) but it is also true for us that some people can more easily recall a specific detail than I could. For the season 3 finale ‘Invasion’ I was very immersed in the story 2-3 months before I shot it. That was because getting all of those people in the room at the same time was very difficult… Read more »
Awwww, that’s a shame about Athena, she was the heroine that got me into the Next Global Crisis vids. Shame never got to see her go out, but understand the reasons. That said, you mind saying how you imagined her going out in your head that you weren’t able to do justice in live action? Would be awesome to have a full picture in my head of her story.
Thank you for the explanation!
