It looks like Gal Gadot is featured prominently so that’s good! And it also looks like a cool movie…. So November: Justice League, December The First Jedi! 🙂

This looks awesome. After the classic that was Batman v Superman, I cannot wait for this one.

I detect a faint hint of Watchmen vibe, and I like it.

And this is excactly what I do not like. Watchmen is Watchmen (and I did like the movie), but this is Justice League. I still like “Man of Steel” a lot and BvS is better in the extented cut, but more and more it seems Snyder lacks a basic understanding of who these characters are. Sure, you can go grimdark, you can deconstruct them, but you need to know them. But I’d see: the shot of Mera in the trailer is all kinds of awesome, maybe for the wrong (or the right kind of) reasons 🙂

I hear you. I think most likely DC/WB simply wants to differentiate their brand from the Marvel/Avengers aesthetic.

Sure, but Marvel does a fine job of differentiating themselves from their movies when it comes to TV. It is so interesting, while DC movies try to be all kinds of dark, their TV stuff is all out comic book style (Flash, Supergirl) and while Marvel movies are more Comic book fun, their TV stuff is dark, oh, brother is it dark. In case you are not watching “Legion”: let me tell you: the best show on TV right know. Not only comic book show, but by far the best thing I have seen in a long time. It is… Read more »

Legion is like what they say in Spinal Tap: crank it up to 11 🙂 And even further. This is probably what you get when you have a “hero” who they refer to as “world-breaker”. It is like they put all the crazy Jack Kirby ideas from the early 70s into a blender and said: how far can we take this comic book thing?

I’ve been meaning to check that show out; tried to follow it a few weeks ago and came away with a vibe not unlike The Prisoner, if anyone remembers that 60’s classic…I honestly have not had the time to pick it up from the beginning , but the reviews have been outstanding, and Horse may have convinced me it is worth the time commitment…because I had NO idea what the hell was going on….Want to put in a word for this season’s Agents of SHIELD….followers of this board will enjoy mega-hot Agent May getting captured and trapped in Virtual Reality;… Read more »

Yes, was reminded of the Prisoner as well. They put a lot of stuff in there. There is Bollywood, a weird version of Bolero and a seduction scene that is straight from hell. Funny thing though: the lead actor, Dan Stevens is also in the # 1 movie in the US. He is the Beast in The Beauty and the Beast. And man, he is such a great actor.

Funny you should mention Legion. I decided to watch episode 1 today, and next thing I know I’m binging it. I’m on episode 4 now. It is really great. Reminds me of the Hannibal series, which I loved.

Plenty to like in this trailer. Let’s keep our fingers crossed. If I had to choose just ONE DC movie managing to be decent, however, all my votes would go towards Wonder Woman.

“If you loved Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the Wonder Woman movie the hasn’t been released yet, and the Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg movies that don’t exist”

So much snark in this line.

Besides: when did James Wan ever disappoint? He has enough clout to make sure his Aquaman movie will not be torn apart by studio heads, plus: Mera!

I dig it!

…and that makes 3 movies with Gal Gadot as WW. Her contract is satisfied. Want more of her as WW? Go see these, then rent the heck out of them at your favourite streaming site.
Looks like a fun movie. Can’t wait to see it.

Damn… actually makes me wanna see it. And Aquaman actually seems like a fun character!

Ehrm…one observation only – colours, dammit! What’s with movies (and videogames, shall I say) in the last 5/10 years, where everything has to be brownish/grayish? The trailer looks ok (and tbh, I don’t think Batman Vs Superman was a bad movie), but in plenty of scenes it may well be a black and white movie. Even The Flash isn’t actually red, more brown/amaranth. Sure, maybe a bright yellow and green Aquaman would have been a bit ridiculous, but there’d be nothing wrong with brilliant blues and reds, plus actual lighting in scenes and not “can barely see what’s going on”…

Thats Zack Snyder for you. What you are seeing is the color desaturation process he uses. I use it in my photography from time to time. Its for effect but I wouldn’t want everything shot like that. Thats his style though, going all the way back to 300.

Ok. I have been very skeptical since the stinkbombs that were BvsS and Suicide Squad but this trailer eases up those concerns a bit. This had better not suck.

The comic con Suicide Squad trailer was pretty sweet. Regardless of how the trailer looks, my expectations are guarded
