THESUPERHEROINES & MYSTIC DRAGON PICTURES CLOSING THE SITE DOWN FOREVER IN FEBRUARY 2017!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGfgPyTPAYI We want to sincerely thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts. This site began as an idea in 2011, launched in 2012, grew until 2016, and now, with the addition of Mystic Dragon Pictures, became a fan-favorite site offering over 500 videos to the superheroine genre and community! Without you, we would not have made it here and this would not have been something our cast and crew could make a living doing. This opportunity allowed all of us to put a roof over our… Read more »

Slightly off topic – this thread is about DC’s upcoming Wonderwoman film starring Gal Gadot…..

Come on now. Who around here cares for Wonder Woman?
Surprised to see that they are still around, though.

They look in the vid like they are in the witness protection program. Maybe it is for (falsely) claiming that a director wins for Best Picture?

Hope he knows his stuff is being sold on C4S. Or is that him?

Lousy actress for a GREAT CHARACTER. Watching this Actress playing this role is like watching a chevy trying to just finish the main Super Sports Cars race of the season. At least now she gained some muscles. Good for her. Wonder Woman deserves a Big Benz, BMW, Ferrari… Not a “Chevy”. I like Chevy but not for a Top Race Cars.

Okay. A bunch of fresh footage, still a beautiful looking movie, still not one single second of action showing Diana being challenged in any way. The closest we’ve seen is her grimacing/trying hard while deflecting a barrage of big gun fire with her shield. Is this movie allowed to have any drama?

This is purely a sense and not backed by anything more than that, but my guess is that there is so much fear that someone may accuse the makers of this WW movie (and Superman v Batman) of being mysoginists that they don’t dare have WW actually come across any physical peril. It seems almost comical in the way she is portrayed. Note how Batman and Superman got beat down in BvS–with Superman briefly killed!–yet WW never seemed to be in any danger whatsoever.

I think that that the lack of peril has to do with the fact that this is the first establishment. I guess in an other movie she will be more into peril. In Batman Begins, Batman was pretty much peril free (physically) but then in a later movie he was ripped appart by Bane. I would imagine it would be lame to (re)-introduce a hero and show him from the start crying beaten in a ditch. Regarding the BvS movie there was not even close enough time for her to be in peril, I mean, come on, she had like… Read more »

But you have to consider more than just one Batman movie. Consider Superman I and the reboots. And there isn’t a superhero movie in which the hero is beaten from the start–it’s typically the three act plot anyhow.

This is what Danny Huston is in the movie for. The guy knows how to pull off playing a menacing guy. Hopefully he is Ares in the movie 🙂 So far he’s been in the teaser and now in this trailer.

Trailer looks great, Gal looks amazing…..but, uh, World War I ?? I can’t think of too many ‘inspiring’ movies to come out of it…from All Quiet on the Western Front to Paths to Glory to Gallepoli, the vast body of WWI films have been cautionary warnings on the futility and horror of war in general. Millions died, little was gained and (not to touch off a political debate) , certain events like Britain declaring an unrecognized Mandate in Palestine have had negative consequences that echo to this day. So, It’s interesting. Geoff Johns is one of the best writers out… Read more »

I think that’s going to be the crux of the movie. Batman v superman established that Diana withdrew from man’s world. WW1 would be a good reason for a honorable warrior to leave mans world in disgust.

You forgot War Horse.
I think Gal does a fine portrayal here. I know I’m gonna go see it.

I enjoyed the trailer. Gal looks amazing as Wonder Woman. I hadn’t watched BvS so haven’t seen her much in character so this little sampling was nice. Chris Pine seems fun as Trevor, I got a sense he’s going to play similarly to how they used Trevor in the animated Wonder Woman movie. The only thing I don’t quite understand, why is this set in World War I? Wonder Woman like Cap America always had her origin and birth in the Second World War. I mean the imagery of Diana climbing out a trench to charge the German lines, very… Read more »

Maybe to set it apart from the first Cap movie and to make it more believable in regard to the weapons used in WW I. You had soldiers on horseback. This matches nicely with Amazons on horseback as well, they with swords, soldiers with guns that are not yet fully automatic. And: no Nazis. So no problems with the toys for the kids.

That seems logical to me. Nevertheless sometime in the future it would be good to see her in a present day situation.

My guess is that if this movie is a success, the WW franchise will almost perfectly parallel the Captain America franchise (back story for the first movie, modern second movie, cross-over third movie).

But you can already do that. It is called Batman v Superman. It is not a terribly good nor a terribly bad movie, but she has a nice part in it.

Or watch this. It is pretty contemporary 🙂

True, but she had a very small part. I meant a whole length feature film starring her. BTW, Affleck was quite good in his role of Batman, better than any of the other actors.

If this movie is a hit. I am sure we get one set in modern times. After some course correction DC movies seem to be on the right track. Yeah, Affleck was great as Batman as I thought he would be. Perfect casting. I like how they add some humor to him in the JL trailer. He can be quite sarcastic when interacting with other heroes. Here is hoping Danny Huston will play Ares as it is rumored. THAT will be epic. He is such great actor and a perfect villain.

I forgot about this till a few minutes ago, but if rumor info from awhile ago (2015) were right, this first WW movie will span three different time periods including WW1 and modern times. I think the other period is Themyscira way prior to WW1.

She’ll be in the two Justice League movies, part 1 and 2.

Love the WW trailer. Hope the movie shines…for WW, and as a positive precursor for solo superheroine movies to follow.

Her and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. By the way Brie Larson is in Kong Skull Island, and that trailer looks awesome. I love the 1970s setting. Very Apocalypse Now. Oddly enough, to my inner ten year old, the Skull Island trailer might be my favorite trailer from the bunch we got from Comic Con.

Will watch Killing Joke this week. Re-read Killing Joke about two years ago and was vastly less impressed by it than when I read it when it was originally published, even though I am still a big fan of Alan Moore’s other comic book work. He is truly one of the greatest in the field of comic book writing. Miracleman is a masterpiece and Watchmen and his run on Swamp Thing. Killing Joke might be one of his weaker works though. The art by Bolland is great, but the writing feels like his heart is not in it. Heard about… Read more »

Wow! looking forward to it!!
But, as the fan of the blockbuster movie.

As the fan of the Superheroine genre??
I don’t like what’s happening to us.
Yeah, Gal gadot is so cool and looks strong and looking really snazzy.
But I don’t like this…cool… snazzy…trendy…Take that! SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!

I like shiny pantyhose…red and blue and gold…nice red boots…retro…tiara…kitsch style…
Yeah, blockbuster movie is just a movie.
I only do what I should to do!
This is my style.

To each his/her own! I have the utmost respect for your vision. However from my point of view, time passes, times change. Wonder Woman 2016 is a serious upgrade. This is gonna be great.

Here’s the Justice League trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gglkYMGRYlE What I think: • Gal Gadot is an excellent choice for Wonder Woman. I haven’t heard much complaining about her lately… • It seems kind of obvious that DC is starting to backpedal with the “dark and depressing” thing. Rumor has it that the re-shoots of Suicide Squad were intended to add more fun and humor into that film, and the fact that the Justice League trailer is full of jokes and humor seems to indicate there might be some truth to that. • The only Zack Snyder films I’ve seen are “Man of… Read more »

Agree with what you write. The latest rumor is that George Miller will direct the Green Lantern Corps movie. We will see. Also, they seem to be moving Geoff Johns more into a Kevin Feige role, but less as a producer, more on the creative side of things. He re-wrote the Wonder Woman script and he is doing the story breakdowns on Aquaman with James Wan, rumor is, they are starting more or less from scratch with the script. Thing is: on the basis of “Man of Steel”, Snyder was a great choice (still think it is a good movie),… Read more »

Has anyone else seen the WW movie poster that got released at Comic Con yesterday? Looks good and the colors are very bright and comic book-y 🙂 Got a lot of buzz. There might be some footage soon.

Gal looks good as it appears like she put on a little bit of muscle/buffness which helps.

@Jadeowl-it always easier to touch up still photos but we’ll see if they go with the Zack Snyder dark tones in the movie or some other shade.

I think the colors look brighter because of the light and also remeber this was the costume before really experice battle, so it should look in better shape that a 100 years later.

I liked Gla a lot in BvS so I think she will do fine here too, really looking forward to the movie and to Justice League.

They are brighter. This is the new NEW DCEU and they have Geoff Johns writing the movie. For better or worse. At least he knows DC.
