First Look: The Spider (from SHL)
I have an idea and I think it might rub some of you the wrong way, so I am going to pitch it and see how you all react…
I was considering (heavily considering) releasing my upcoming Spidergirl film without announcing the actress or showing any images/trailer of her unmasked. That way this audience for the first time in history can have an actual unmasking/identity reveal surprise. A genuine unmasking for real! But…
I am also not insane. I imagine the bulk of you wouldn’t jive with that. So I think there has to be a way to kill two birds with one stone. So I was thinking: Release a Masked Trailer, do a Pre-order for unmasking fans and then have a Release Date set so everyone who wants to be part of this world historic Superheroine unmasking can have a 24-48 window to take part. Then a full trailer would drop for all the holdouts, with a normal release shortly thereafter.
So: Masked Trailer, Unmasking Preorder, Film drops for preorder customers on scheduled date, 24 hours later a normal trailer drops for everyone who can’t imagine buying a film without knowing whose in it, then 24 hours later film has wide release.
As of now I anticipate having the film complete by September (my birthday month!)

I think within the next 2-3 weeks, but I still hope within this week.
Since several weeks usually pass between the individual updates, that is a bit annoying.
However, it is ultimately up to Damien when he releases a clip.

Maybe the male actor staying with a mask on for the whole film has something to do with the pandemic and not neccesarily what a producer would ideally want
I remember other producer mentioning that some actresses said they felt more comfortable working with masked villains, and some may have put it as a condition to come film

I think the ‘soul’ you are referring too is that I do a lot of work to find inspiration that gets me ‘excited’ about the work. I think you work has been amazing I think to keep the bar moving I would make a suggestion of more dialogue in character during the Hardcore part. Degradation, begging, pleading, and some funny puns by the villains’ at times. Just a thought.
I’ve been working on it. The hardest part about scripted dialogue during hardcore scenes is stopping the two actors and then reading a script to them. The male talent usually is doing everything in their power to maintain an erection, me talking to them about dialogue risks killing the whole vibe of a moment. It’s something that simulates scenes benefits from, but in hardcore, the dynamics are different.
I should just hire someone to read lines into an ear piece so the talent can just be feed lines, like Robert Downey Jr does on movie sets
That explains a lot about why that happens, thank you. maybe it can be curtailed to the talents kinks and the Dialogue can help them maintain the erection both from the heroine and the villain.
Recently, with characters like the Harvestor (Wonder Woman villain) I do his dialogue in post (audio recordings not done on set of his lines) to give more flexibility. That way I only need to worry about the actresses lines, vs two characters. Reading a script during a hardcore scene is complicated, as I’m holding a camera rig and I work alone. I am so glad I put in for the pre-order when this was first announced. The production value has only gotten better over the years with Zatanna being my favorite movie.
I loved the web slinging as well as the choreography. The actress really knows how to handle herself in combat. And of course, the costume is sick.

I had already pre-ordered (a first for me, to show support for this kind or costumes and full body suits) and honestly it’s enough people talk positively about the trailer.
1/4 of the action being masked seems solid enough for a first video of this kind, and i guess it could be extended in the future if there’s a demand for it, but as for me I don’t want to even watch the trailer. Just wanna be as unspoiled as possible for the proper release!
I’m all for making more ‘identity films’ if it appeals to a decent amount of people. If I could do it over again, there would be more mystery in the film about ‘who is it?’ Rather than it just being a marketing gimmick. Live and learn I suppose!

That trailer was fucking solid. I think it took maybe 15 seconds to preorder once it ended. Man, I really wish you wouldn’t reveal her identity and just let people find out at release. Got me all kinds of excited. And, whoever is in the suit, girl has some moves. She sells the action and doesn’t seem like the average model/actress playing a superheroine. I am open to them and there’s no generic pricing, it all depends on what you want, who you want and wether or not it’s physically possible. I tend to reject customs that have no large appeal (no resale value). Example: You want a film where Supergirl spins around for 50 minutes. I tend to spend a decent amount of time and effort in production and post, so if it won’t appeal to a wide audience odds are someone can’t afford my ‘time’ since I won’t be able to commit that time to a personal project with a bigger potential… Read more »
I would love to see your take on Electrawoman and Dynagirl, but I am afraid they are not that popular nowadays. Besides that, having an heroine duo would involve more villains making the whole movie more complex leaving less time for other projects and more expensive resulting in less profits.

From a real world logic standpoint, what I always liked about full face covering costumes like this is that those were the only ones where the secret identity of a heroine would be fully protected, so the unmasking would always make more sense, and as a bonus we had the mystery of seeing how pretty the actress that was underneath it was! Oh, yeah. You have to be able to see the heroine’s face while she’s being raped. Not being able to see her reactions and read her feelings would ruin the scene for me. This is yet another reason why it’s important to have an actress who likes making this kind of content and is therefore able to really commit to the role. I’m confident that Damien has this covered.

Doing a lesbian scene followed by a BG scene would double production cost as most adult talent charge per Sex Scene, not hours on set.
Well, it wouldn’t “double” the costs. I’m well aware that adult performers are paid by the scene, not by the hour, as I’m extremely conversant with most aspects of the industry. It would certainly cost more, but you wouldn’t have to pay twice for the shoot house or location, you wouldn’t pay twice for travel or other expenses, etc. I’m guessing that your production costs would go up by about $1,500. The general gist is I don’t believe in lesbian content being a hot seller, so it make sense to have it be an add on feature than the main course.

I think you should probably follow your instincts with that one. I’m lukewarm on the lesbian idea, but I did see a suggestion in the last post about female villains and don’t think the two ideas should necessarily be linked. I thought Star Nine was quite good in her villainous role in one of the Uninvited flicks, as an example.

I would totally buy a video starring Silk (preferably weaing her second and current suit of course, but with all black feet, the white lines there kind of mess it up for me) since I consider it the sexiest and best costume design of the current the Spider Heroines. I feel this could work if the actress isn’t a regular SHL feature, like Ashley or Abby. Otherwise the reveal would be underwhelming for me. Hopefully it works either way for the rest.

I never considered spider-Gwen.
The inspiration came from the mountain of cosplayers who wear spidergirl costumes. I always thought the original colors looked striking on the female form. Spider-Gwens suit doesn’t have as much as a perfect transfer to practical, something about white spandex always gives it a less striking visual

Always interesting to see where your inspiration comes from for your projects as you don’t usually take customs like other producers. Do you have an eye for any other marvel characters as your choices seem to be predominantly DC in the past.
Also always preferred 1V1 films. Your best releases are probably The harvest and the therapy one, feels more personal and sometimes in a 3V1 situation, the third male talent seems awkward with nothing much to do except getting a handjob on the side…
It’s ironic that I enjoy Marvel films more than DC, yet make so many DC character based films. I think DC female characters lend themselves to fetish films better. Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Batgirl are iconic. I think most fetishist foundations being in the 60s/70s TV shows of Wonder Woman and Batman kind of reinforce that. I very much agree with your analysis of DC v. Marvel heroines; spot on. The only Marvel heroine who stands out as a sexual figure is Black Widow. If you look at her early comic appearances she is portrayed in a style similar to what is happening then (70s) to heroines over at DC. Having Scarlett Johansson play the part was a bog boost too.
I totally see why the holy trinity sells more currently, but also think it´s a demographic thing too. Wait a couple of years and Marvel heroines that have become maisntream will be highly requested, since more people who grew with them get to enjoy (and have the disposable income to buy) SHIP videos, feminist protrayal or not. I think I’ll be focusing on 1V1 for a bit. I think the 3 on 1 was fun for a minute cause no one else was doing hardcore, let alone hardcore 3v1/4v1, but I think it’s a good time to take a break from it for a little while

Silk is my current favorite spider heroine, and I think her costume design is highly underrated, it´s a mix of Spiderman and Mortal Kombat female ninjas brought to life!

I really like and encourage the idea because it’s clever, different, and interesting. So great! That being said, as a fan of unmaskings in movies, the mystery itself doesn’t really do anything for me. For what it’s worth I have never bought any of your films and will pre-order this one knowing full well what I am into is only going to be a portion of the film. But yes, if you just did more defeat and humiliation oriented movies with focus on unmasking, I would buy your stuff more often. Your films always have great actresses and production values, but from the descriptions the focus is so much on sex that stuff like unmasking or even being undressed feels like an afterthought. I personally don’t think any unmasking I’ve ever done is clumsy in nature, or not given it’s due diligence. I will say the only film that focus on unmasking and wasn’t a hardcore film: was a financial disaster for me.
Unmasking is within my wheelhouse of personal fetishes. Hardcore pays the bills.
Any plans to do a film in the style of the hardcore stuff you’ve been doing lately, but with sim sex (think Battle For Earth-level intensity) instead of hardcore? I’m not into hardcore myself but something like your current work without actual sex would be an instant buy for me.
I’d argue ‘why not just buy TBFE’? They make great films and have great production value and costumes. I like that we all occupy all of our own corners to this genre and I’m not sure I see the value in treading backwards, as I’ve strictly done hardcore films for the past 3-4 years
If me and Ultraheroix make more films together ‘UHL’ etc, then I can see me leaning in that direction

TBFE doesn’t have Abbie Maley or anybody with her ability to believably cry or convey despair. She’s the best I’ve seen since Missie Rhodes in Nina Driver.
I’m sure if someone paid for a custom with her they (TBFE) would be more than happy to work with her. She’s by no means exclusively an SHL actress

Two quick thoughts: 1) love the concept, and I hope she is unmasked for most of the sequence as without it I see too much Spider-Man (if that makes sense); 2) would love to see what can be done with the black-and-white version of the Spider-Woman costume.
Yeahhh unless the mask goes off not too long into it it’s gonna be hard picturing anybody but Tom Holland under there, and that’s definitely not for me.

I’m of the opposite opinion, I like the Spider-Girl costume and don’t want her unmasked too soon!
The only issue is that this is a Spiderman costume being worn by a female rather than an actual comic accurate Spider Girl costume, so I see why someone could feel like they are watching MCU spidey.under the mask.
Still I think the idea is fantastic and full body suits are always a plus for me, and certainly seeing a new type of character being features is also great!
Also, just to make sure we are all on the same page here: the film itself is not based around a unmasking. There is one but it’s not critical to the narrative.
I just saw this as an opportunity to explore the excitement of unmasking fans, as it’s not a cowl or eye mask so you literally can’t see who is under there.
If people are into the idea, in the future I could make an unmasking film that massively leans into the ‘who is it’ theme

Wonder if we’ll instantly be able to pick the actress in the initial trailer or opening minutes of the film just based on how she sounds (or at least rule out some people)…
Also hope you’ll continue with the BTS stuff, sure this one would be interesting with the challenges having the full head mask on.
Haha I’ve thought about this in the last 24 hours and… fuck right? Might kill it for a couple folks if they are able to pick up on her voice and defeat the whole spectacle I’ve made of the unmasking experience. I could always use an effect on her voice or release 2 versions of the film ‘voiced before unmasking by other actress’ and ‘normal film’
It’s probably worth the risk to just to leave the actress’ voice alone. I feel like it would be weird to mess with her voice or use another actress for part of the movie. Maybe the pre-order trailer can be cleverly made to not include any parts where she is speaking.
I don’t think changing voice is a good idea. It’s setting up for subverting expectation and not in a good way
How about a changed voice version and a non-changed voice version. I definitely want to be in the dark all the way to the unmasking.
You really go the extra mile for your art. I hope you find a simple effect that does the job easily.
Maybe just have a silent pre-order trailer teaser. Just the trailer without sound or background music to describe the scene intensity. Leaves the imagination to fill in everything and no need to do anything to voice or actress… really build the suspense for customers…

I see that there’s been some pushback against the idea of using a voice effect prior to the unmasking, but I don’t really see why it wouldn’t work. In recent years, we’ve gotten used to voice effects for heroes in costume, particularly Batman, with the understanding that the hero is using a voice effect to conceal his identity. I don’t see why it would be such a stretch for Spider-Girl to have a voice modulator in her mask to keep her identity secret.

Obviously this is already set for your film and I’m sure it’ll be a great moment but I’ve always been a fan of the unmasking after a forced Orgasm. Where the villain after beating/restraining the heroine tells her if she orgasms they’ll unmask them. Sort of proving that they don’t deserve the mask… Also just some pet peeves of mine that you normally avoid anyway but it bugs me when the crooks/villains in SHiP films don’t recognize the heroine (in costume). The idea sort of reminds me of what Alex Bettinger once did for the XCW series of his, where the episode was a rumble’s match and 11 or so actresses was in it. For the first 3 days he had no info, pics or trailers up to keep the suprise intact as to whom would be in it and whom would get dominated. I bought it within those 3 first days.

First time in history? LOL not even close. GIGA has been using this gimmick for their Glamour Mask(A kekko kamen parody heroine basically) since 2011.
They have them credited as ??? on their website and unmasked and properly credited at the end of the movie. Example: GHOR-56. On their website the actress is ???. In the end credits, it’s Asahi Mizuno.
So what you are trying to say is… first time in HISTORY!
